Mary Stayed Out All Night Choral OST Track From Episode 7

I’ve been wearing out my You’re Beautiful OST whilst waiting for my Mary Stayed Out All Night OST to arrive. It’s purely a rom-com plus Jang Geun Seok association, because the two soundtracks are quite different. Its funny that I’m listening to the YB OST more now than I did when YB was airing. Everyone knows the main songs from the M3 OST, but the amazing track that played during episode 7’s pivotal sick bed “I can’t do this anymore” scene has been on repeat on my computer for the last 2 days. It’s track 5 off the M3 OST: “Europa” by Janinto. Even if you are not caught up on M3 yet, I suggest you listen to this track. It’s beautiful and evocative.

You can find your own downloads, but this song is like balm for the wounded soul. I went back and confirmed, because I was quite sure but needed to hear it again, the song that plays when Mae Ri and Mu Gyul meet for the first time is also Europa. Remember how we all laughed that some soaring choral song heralding angels and hallelujahs played when Mae Ri ran Mu Gyul down with her car? Well, that song takes on a whole new meaning in episode 7. Pain, my heart is in pain, I tell you. And yes, like all of you, I cannot wait for Monday to arrive.

Mary Stayed Out All Night Choral OST Track From Episode 7 — 21 Comments

  1. It plays for a lot of those moments – when she hits him with the car & sees him the first time, when he kissed her forehead – I think it even played after the kiss when she was watching him drink water & embarrassed…

    • The forehead kiss is a different song. Europa did play, however, when she sees him coming out of the shower and when she watched him drink water after their first kiss. But both times, it was simply the refrain playing, without the melancholy dips from the entire song.

In episode 7, it’s when the entire song gets played for a good 2-3 minutes, and it’s amazing to hear. Before it evoked a sense of wonder and surprise. In episode 7, it brings forth a feeling of longing and dissonance.

  2. OK.. i popped my M3 OST in my mac to listen to the song.. and yes… you are right. Mugyul and Mary’s pain is tangible in this song

  3. i have the ost in my ipod and i really love this song before they played it on THE SCENE. it’s just that i don’t listen a lot to the entire soundtrack, cause I keep repeating buthake my bus and my precious (i certainly love everything jgs sings)
