First Look at Kang Ji Hwan in Lie to Me

Earlier this week I brought the first official stills of Yoon Eun Hye in Lie to Me, yet it somehow felt incomplete. That’s because without her co-star Kang Ji Hwan to complete the tableau, Lie to Me just feels like a three-legged chair. I was worried the drama would keep him under wraps until its premiere, but thankfully the production has a functioning brain because today it released the first two official stills of Kang Ji Hwan’s chaebol hotel president character in Lie to Me. Me <—————*jaw drop* He looks soooooo fine I need my own bucket. I love his high-maintenance hair, so don’t judge me, it looks great on him, along with his awesome tailored suits.

The start date of Lie to Me may be pushed back, because Kim Hee Ae, one of the leads of Midas (the drama proceeding Lie to Me) just lost her father-in-law in real life and is currently in mourning services and unable to film for Midas. Word is that Midas may preempt an episode or two due to this unexpected passing, or maybe not, and just write her character off for a few episodes overseas. As for Lie to Me, this drama really reminds me of a K-drama version of Sunny Happiness with some details changed here and there. I do not doubt Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan will have melt-the-screen chemistry, and I only hope there is enough substantive story to sustain this magical pairing.

First Look at Kang Ji Hwan in Lie to Me — 17 Comments

  1. Look, I may have a suit kink and despite that, I usually don’t like white ones, but homg, on KJH that suit looks mighty fine. I’m not even commenting on the other pic because that’s just…nnnngggh.

  2. That man is gorgeous. I almost died when I saw these. I don’t know if I can take the wait anymore haha, I wanna see him in action!

  3. Gosh! He looks so handsome! So happy that I’d get to see him again in a drama!
Must have been getting used to seeing him in a drama year after year since I saw him in Exhibition of Fireworks! I liked him in Exhibition of Fireworks. Had a crush on him with Capital Scandal. Fell for him in Hong Gil Dong. Wanna marry him by the time of Coffee House! Haha! I’m so excited!

  4. Hmmm… I think I’m going to be the sole outlier and admit to not seeing the appeal. Though I confess I have also not seen any of his work. Maybe I’ll start with Lie to Me.

      • Ah yes, so I’ve heard. I’ll def get to it one of these days. There’s just the dilemma of so much to watch and so little time.

  5. Eeep!! Kang Ji Hwan looks SO handsome… I am doubly excited now!! Honestly, I would watch this even if the story isn’t as good..

  6. YEH & KJW have got to be a match made in rom-com heaven! Please Kdrama Gods…don’t let the writer and PD screw this one up! This is the drama I’m looking forward to the most, and it’s just because of these two. Although Best Love is running a close second!

  7. koala, LOL at the Sunny Happiness reference. When I read that I had just finished thinking that KJW’s hair in the white suit pic reminded me of Mike He.
