Based on the title alone, it’s pretty obvious that Drunken to Love You is the successor drama to the all-time ratings champion Fated to Love You. What’s cute is that DTLY borrows some scenes and plot developments from FTLY, but makes it feel fresh and new. For example, Xiao Ru is dumped by Yi Xian in episode 1 just like Xin Yi was dumped by that Gucci (lord his name still makes me ROFL), but her reaction and behavior are so refreshingly different. In episode 11 it looks like we’re getting a similar mask-and-night club scene as well.
I’m genuinely enjoying DTLY so much that I feel like even the silliest of narratives are entertaining without feeling plodding. With Lie to Me ending early next week, I have to give my Drunken-fans an early notice that the recap for cup 11 may come in the latter half of next week. Will try to get it up, but depends on how insane the last two episodes of LTM gets, I may be doing crowd control here at the playground.

Two women battling for love, so whose wish will come true? The feelings Xiao Ru has for Jie Xiu, is she really going to allow the chop of a Temple Lady’s knife to cut it?
Daniel orders a fire drill at the hotel. During the drill, Xiao Ru assists another and ends up accidentally losing her wedding ring. Daniel uses this opportunity to get closer to Xiao Ru.
All the signs points to Madame Booby (the goddess of the Temple) exerting all her power to keep the fated destiny of Xiao Ru and Jie Xiu apart.
On the other hand, lonely Samantha goes online and somehow makes an online hookup with Lee Da Fu (Jie Xiu’s boss). Jie Xiu is very embarrassed by his mother’s behavior. But what makes him even more furious is discovering his wife Xiao Ru is actually tagging along with his mom!
At the packed nightclub, a battle between a man and a woman is about to begin.

Man, can’t we cut the Mom shenanigans? I’d like to zip through all that and go right to the Xie Jiu/Xiao Ru bits. If XR keeps up with the trend she’s established in the last one or 2 eps, I may start having random tics. Kudos to Xie Jiu for not giving up, though. He has every right to be frustrated with XR, imho.
Also? LOL at Avril! She has a perfect man right beside her and she hooks up with XJ’s boss? I know it’s for comic relief, but LOLOLOL

LTM crowd control hehe!!! I admit my enjoyment of DTLY is getting clouded by my LTM madness. Ok – I know I said that the LTM ep 14 drunk scene was the best drunk scene I’ve seen yet. But the drunk scene between JX and XR where they flash back to how they got married is freaking hilarious! I have those scenes memorized – and laughed so hard, definitely my 2nd favorite now.
I love the comedic scenes btw JX and XR just as much as the serious. It’s really classic TW idol drama but oh so much better. 🙂

I’m of course more interested in JX-LXR outcome. Our man was not at all happy at discovering wifey at a blind-date masquerade party, was he ? Look at his eyes, opened to their largest extent. They seemed ready to swallow LXR whole!
But then, why was he there in the first place? I can hear it in my mind already…accompanying the big boss. Hey SJX, bear in mind “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander”…
Don’t worry about us drunken-fans. We’ll sit patiently and wait. I think we know how it is when a drama creates a fan base like LTM. Crowd control is a must. I loved the mask-and-night club scene in FTLY so really looking forward to that. Fighting!

Love buffet hmmm? Well the boys were ok but I dont really like the female lead worst was her voice yuck so irky Aaron was so cool love him better than Calvin in LB. Anyway it was manga adaption so kind of know the story goes. I prefer hayate combat butler .lol
Thoroughly enjoy this show, Joseph was a revelation to me but I have to say that his has a very well written role.
I love FTLY (save for the nonsensical last few episodes) and felt that FTLY struck a deeper chord with me (who can forget the hospital scene in Ep 12, those passionate kisses, those tears from Ethan Ruan and Joe Chen).
But I suppose DTLY is lighter and more of a rom com than FTLY.

I stopped watching for the past 2 weeks even though I love Rainie. Disliking:
1. The “pregnant” best friend is constantly eating just bothers me & is setting some sort of misconception on pregnant ladies, how it’s okay to eat like crazy.
2. The “fairy god-mother” whom we all love in other dramas, in some ways are just like the pregnant lady, funny, loving & yacks til the cows come home.
3. I’m feeling less magic between the 2 lovebirds and the “star” what’s her name can’t act to convince anything.
Maybe I’ll speed watch after the drama ends.
Oh well, I guess the crowd may get rowdy. Since I’m in the minority, I suppose I’ll just sit in my tire swing, with some blow pops and a stopwatch toiling over the RAWs and rough translations until the merry-go-round is back on its pivot, the sand is returned to the sandbox and the kicking stops at the monkey bars.
actually, i just begin to read DTLY recap a few hours ago. but! the story is good!
and the male lead who is hot, caring, loving, persistent, and can actually use his brain… not some idiotic male lead that make me scream for his stupidity (“can’t you see the truth she’s in love with you??!” or “damn! can’t you see the trick she’s using??” , etc…)
