Skip Beat Releases New Trailer at the End of Final Episode of In Time With You

Unless you know your source material, this poster for the upcoming Taiwanese drama Skip Beat isn’t going to make any sense with respect to Ivy Chen wearing a eye-hurting bright pink jumpsuit and carrying a chicken costume head in her hand while making an “L” gesture with her other hand. But if you’ve read the manga, she’s exactly as I pictured vengeful and focused Kyoko ready to rock her Love Me duties and do whatever it takes to climb the entertainment world ladder.

At the end of the final episode of In Time With You came a new two minute trailer for SB. The drama will premiere in exactly a week, and Lee Donghae and Choi Siwon will be in Taiwan this week for the official press conference with Ivy and Bianca Bai. In the two minute trailer, Donghae and Siwon’s dubbed voices are revealed for the first time. I like both dubs, though I only know Kun Da is doing the sub for Siwon. Watch on to squee with me.

The trailer has a doofy voiceover dude who makes wildly pompous statements about how great this drama is going to be with an all-star cast, blah blah blah. I hate voiceover dude. As for the dialogue in the trailer for the leads, it follows the manga. Dun He Lian (Ren) challenges Gong Xi (Kyoko) for her impure motives in wanting to become an entertainer. Bu Puo Shan (Sho) vows to become a bigger star than Ren, while Jiang Nan Qing (Moko) thinks she’s the best new talent out there and vows Gong Xi is going to be eliminated in short order. I am seriously so dying for this drama it’s not even funny.

  1. Hi!

I’m getting a bit too excited for this! So excited I’m a bit scared i will be disappointed. This has to be the most anticipated tw drama for me of the year. I’ve been DYING to watch it.
I like the sound of both dub’s but I’m glad the non dubbed version will be released as well. That way, I can watch it twice. 😉
I’m still reading the manga and the next chapter is in forever so I’m so glad the drama is going to come out soon. ^^
I’m glad the drama seems rather fateful to the manga and I think the casting works pretty well.
And here’s the subbed version of the trailer.

  2. This looks great! I love the special fx-gotta have the grudge Kyoko’s for this to be Skip Beat. When is the projected release date? I can’t wait either. Thank you for the preview!

  3. I think many people have waited months and years for this lol…and it’s finally going to be air.
I don’t know about this drama because sometimes when you have high expectations thinking that a drama is going to be good, it usually goes the other way…
We all will find out really soon though hahah…
and one more comment i will have to make, it’s weird hearing Choi Si Won and Donghae with other people’s voices, it just looks funny to me having to hear other voices that are coming out from their mouth lol

  4. Thanks for the preview.

The poster does makes sense. The pink costume is the work costume for the department that her character works in called Love Me department/section (the “L” sign). The chicken costume is one of her jobs for this department.

The jumpsuit is following the manga but… why no orange hair :p (kidding)? Unfortunately, I think Donghae and Siwon’s looks almost identical to each other in the poster….

I wonder at what point the drama will end… coz the manga havent finish yet and going at an extremely slooooooow pace…

  5. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. I really like the manga. 🙂 I think it’s been about 6 or 7 years that I’ve been waiting for a LA of this one. Anyhow – I really hope it’s good and I will definitely be tuning in.

  6. Sooo looking forward to this! The dubbing isn’t as bad as I feared, so that’s a good sign. Wish they’d come up with better names though, why can’t they just be Sho and Ren and Kyoko??

    • yay! more trailer to feed my obsession! I’ve been searching up info, new trailers, and photos about this every day for the past 3 weeks or so, and have been waiting for this for A LONG TIME, so I’m supa excited!! > < plus i love the cast

      • whoops, sry, i didn’t mean that as a reply to your comment… but. I think I might as well reply now anyway 🙂 : I really like the cast too (which I already mentioned, haha), but I don’t know if it’ll surpass the manga… I mean, other than that it’s going really slowly, I think everything else about the manga is perfect (at least the characters)- it’ll be hard to act perfectly as any of them..

  7. Like all others I’m looking forward to this!!!!!
For me the trailer is great!
Actors did really good job as I think 🙂
    Manga’s spirit is in it!!!
    Waiting for 18th!!!!!

  8. Woohoo!! And it looks like they’re going to go all manga-esque with Kyoko’s evil spirits and everything haha which just makes me more excited 🙂

  9. Ermm, I have a bad feeling about Skip Beat after seeing the dubbing: yikes, don’t like it. :((

But I can’t wait to watch and savour the acting confrontation scene between Kyoko and Ren, and generally any scene with them, hehe…at least, I hope the drama will be enjoyable and watchable, but I so dread the OTT acting and silliness…

  10. Finally!!!!! Yes, I’m so excited for this. Can’t wait for this… I will stuck it out with a bad dub if it turns out to be such…

  11. Okay, I have never watched a drama with dubbed voices and it will be a challenge for me. I hate dubbing as much as you hate the voiceover guy.
However, the drama looks good. Kyoko’s character seems to be in place (with those funny dark spirit thingy’s). I can’t really decide about anything else yet, hopefully it will play out the way its supposed to.

  12. I personally would’ve liked Kun da to be the voiceover/dubb for Donghae(Donghai) instead of Siwon but hey I have no control.

But the competition between the characters of Donghae and Siwon for Ivy’s heart/attention is going to be interesting onscreen (and offscreen maybe) because they are band members and good friends in real life so it would be portrayed pretty well on screen! 🙂

  13. Okay, am I the only one who giggles like an idiot when Donghae sucks that pink pudding-jello thing in his mouth? So adorkable! I’ll end up watching this just for him, I know it. *g*

  14. OMG. I think I’ve been looking forward to this so much that everything looks amazing and nothing hurts. I might even try and stream this raw.

  15. Usually I don’t like taiwan dramas, but I really can’t wait for this! lol the sfx actually look quite decent and like the manga…. aaaah… and I like it that the actress playing kyoko actually looks quite cute and guileless like she is supposed to! lol…. usually they are whiny and annoying….

Hope it comes soon! Thanks for the news Koala! =D

    • Ivy is great! If you saw her acting in Black and White you would agree, I guess! She differs from the majority of taiwanese actresses who really act whiny and annoying most of the time^_^
