Who is Hungry! for a J-dorama with Mukai Osamu and Takimoto Miori?

It’s a veritable feast of Winter dorama premieres next week, and I’m keeping my eye out for Hungry! as well. Starring Mukai Osamu as a bassist for a rock band who takes over the family restaurant in accordance with his late mother’s will, he will be entangled in a love triangle with Takimoto Miori and Kuninaka Ryoko whilst battling the rival restaurant owner played by SMAP‘s Inagaki Goro. The cast held a press conference this week where Mukai’s costars revealed that he’s a fantastic cook in real life, and appeared to handle the cooking scenes in the drama with ease. So Mukai is a seksi bad boy AND a cook? How are the ladies supposed to ever resist him. While the teaser trailer doesn’t grab me right off the bat, it looks interesting and cute enough to keep me interested in checking this out next week. I like all three leads, so unless the story sucks I’m looking forward to an easy J-dorama to follow.

  1. umm would YUM! be an inappropriate response?

mukai osamu! i was expecting parakiss to be all kinds of awesomeness rolled into one and was sorely disappointed… so im glad to see another project of his hit my googlebox…

    • Haha! Yum should be okay. XD

I’m disappointed with Paradise Kiss too… I’ve waited for that movie only to feel upset about it. Anyway, I wish and pray that this one will be good. ^^

  2. Ugh ParaKiss live action was nothing like the manga and anime. And if there’s a half-naked Mukai Osamu scene in any episode (make it all episodes), then that would make everyone hungry (and happy).

  3. A rocker who can cooks? Cool… 🙂 How I wish Mukai Osamu can sing and cook for me… Haha..now, that’s romantic.. 😛 I think this is going to be a fun drama.. looking forward to it. Thanks for the update, Ms Koala!!

  4. i LOVED mukai osamu. really. even before all the hype after whatever project he’s in, i always like him. he’s not the best actor, i know. but he is. my. type! and he can act better than some johnny boys. later on, he became the “it” actor, the one everyone picked for valentine’s day or whatever… but that’s also… the time when i realized his veeeerrrrryyyyy limited acting. for serious. maybe i’m into meaty stuffs these days, but “hungry!” made me suffering more. it’s just… too cliche, too crack, too… blergh. and not helping are the acting from the actors, esp mukai osamu, whom again i felt so awkward and limited after “paradise kiss”.

he oozed charm that captured me in “atasinchi no danshi” and “mei-chan no shitsuji” — and i managed to enjoy those dramas — and i see a glimpse of what i’d call as an *acting* in “gegege no nyobo” and “shinzanmono”… but then his recent works, his over-exposure and all made me feel tired. i hope it’s not just “over-exposure” syndrome that made me lost all my interest on him. i still like him, because he’s so. damn. my. type. someday, if he made up his acting, or choose a less-crack project, i’d definitely stood by him. over-exposed or not.

sorry for the long rant anyway! xD
