Video Preview for Episode 6 of Big

Mind. Melted. Watching episode 5 of Big, I was tra-la-la-ing happily going with the flow, until I was smacked over the head with the Hong Sisters throwing in a twist this early in the game. What tha what? If you thought you knew how this story was going to unfold, I tell you now to throw it out the window and just sit back and relax. This is so awesome we need to savor it. I’ll reveal the twist after the jump.

There is a…….wait for it….

TIME JUMP OF 1 YEAR!

Yes, the Hong Sisters threw in a time jump in episode 5! That is unheard of unless we’re talking children-to-adult transition time jumps. Kyung Jae leaves for the US for a year, and returns to likely blow our (and Da Ran’s) mind.

Preview for episode 6:

Doctor friend: Are you planning to return to work?

Kyung Jae: Of course I’m returning to work. I’ve filled it (my brain) all up.

Choong Shik: While you were in the hospital, didn’t you hear that Dr. Seo has returned?

Kyung Jae: One needs to regain confidence so as to not trip again.

Mari: In this world, do you believe there are people that similar.

Uncle: Mari student.

Mari: You said the house Kyung Joon lived in, was bought by that ahjusshi?

Mama Seo: For me, I’m very grateful that you Ms Lee Se Young are beside Yoon Jae.

Kyung Jae: This will likely become a battlefield, so be prepared to get hurt.

      • Nope, the legal adult age in South Korea has been lowered to 19 in a bill passed in 2011. It doesn’t mean much, all it says is that a person does not need guardian consent to do certain things that are restricted, like getting married.

The whole point of this time jump is to pull the emotional and intellectual distance between Kyung Joon and Da Ran closer, which just confirms yet again that the OTP is Kyung-Ran. Poor Yoon Jae, all in a coma for a year now. Sucks to be him.

      • Oh, so KJ is already of legal age. I’m quite happy now since I’m KJ/DR shipper although I prefer the real KJ and not KJ in YJ’s body.

  1. Ms Koala,
This is so damn awesome isnt it!!! I was squealing and COULD.NOT.BREATHE. moments after the incredible ending. Drama like this makes me want to have my own Kdrama blog so I can keep gushing non-stop about what a great drama this is and my huge crash on Gong Yoo. hehe.. until of course the realisation of how much dedication and hardwork is needed to sustain one. Thank you so much for providing us an aveune to release all these gigantic explosion of emotions and for all the hardwork! So appreciated.

  2. not sure what to think anymore about the whole situation and how its gonna end….so unpredictable!!!! me love it!!!

  3. Honestly, if KJ will be working in the hospital again being a surgeon, then it’s ridiculous. How can he be surgeon by learning only about a year when it requires at least 11 years of learning just to be a medical practioner only. If you’ll perform surgery, you need additional years of learning aside from the minimum years required. Even if KJ is a genius, it’s still impossible.

      • Maybe he’ll be in a specialized field? Only focused on one aspect of medical care. As in a pediatrician? Admittedly I would have preferred a three year time leap but I would have felt bad Yoon Jae/Kyung Joon’s body was in a coma for so long…

      • I agree. No way, no how can KJ be ready for YJ’s job. I thought it was the more one specializes the more training they need. And surgery does take many many many years of training as Kyla stated.

I kinda wish he had another profession or was a regular doc – still unbelievable but less training than a surgeon. Then again, this is a drama where a lot of things go out the window 🙂

  4. Ok. So I couldn’t help it and read the twist & all before I even watched ep 5. Ahhhhhhhhh. Didn’t expect that. Love this drama.

  5. I think Gong Yoo looks more awesome in this episode, if that could even be possible. Gee, I thought he looked his best as being Choi Han Kyul. Guess not. Thanks!

  6. Noooo, what about YJ?

    This isn’t fair competition!

YJ now is the cheater for DR and is in coma for 1 year.

No chances to him make DR wave again…….

    I feel bad for YJ.

And I still can’t ship KJ and DR.

    • Noooo you’re not alone bb! I’m the same as you! We’re only on episode 5, we still have 11 more episodes that will hopefully explain YJ’s side. Let’s not lose hope! <3

  7. I want Kyung Jae’s body to wake up.. I want to see Kyung-Ran in the original body.. hehehehe.. I’m wondering how le se young can enter the house.. is that mean se young in the past year also close to kyung jae? How kyung jae can be close with her???

  8. I know I am like the only one but, I’m still not fully convinced that they, Da Ran and Kyung Joon, are the OTP.
    1) I need to see Yoon Jae actually able to speak for himself
    2) I think Kyung Joon and Mari actually have a really strong connection
    3) thinking back to the movie, ‘Big’ with Tom Hanks, even though his character and the adult woman really had a connection and a spark, he ended up going back to being a kid. She was just a catalyst for him understanding the world a little better (obviously the characters are a bit different).
    4) I am wondering if somehow, in the end the way in which Da Ran handles Yoon Jae (whenever he wakes up…come on, he has to, right?) is going to be a template for how Kyung Joon handles Mari–both of them have a feeling of deep betrayal (Mari hinted at this when she took the blame for his mother’s death)

  9. *Sigh* I’ll give up with guessing where the Hong sisters will take us with these characters. I hope I’m too busy with work in the coming weeks, otherwise, I’ll be so obsessed with this drama, I’ll be pulling my hair out waiting for the next episodes. 😀

    • Oh, forgot to say, I can just imagine how much FUN GY is having since he gets to play 2 characters! I think he’s the BIG winner, after all is said and done.

  10. i dont know..somewhat i just want DR end out with the real kJ body..even if sometimes i feel pity with Yoon Jae..
The same like others no idea how the scriptwriter want to end the story..since Hong sister always making drama that a little bit fantasy, so make the ending as fantasy as well is possible right?

    DR-KJ real shipper..
