With Love Forward finally ending (the drama was mind numbingly boring for me), SETTV must be licking its chops waiting for Roy Qiu’s Miss Rose (螺絲小姐要出嫁) to quickly take its place. Premiering on July 22nd, the drama not only shares a male lead with last year’s ratings wunderkind Office Girls, but the title is purposely similar in cadence and concept. If you read Chinese, say 小資女孩向前衝 and then 螺絲小姐要出嫁. See what I mean? Both dramas are set in the corporate office setting, but from what I’ve seen the production and writing team is different so not sure if MR can capture the airy sweetness of OG. While Roy can do more than your average leading man in carrying even a lugubrious drama, he’s going to need Megan Lai to at least spark with him the way Alice Ke did last week.
To be honest I’m keeping my expectations way low for this one, and even if it sucks I’ll still watch for my love of Roy. Check out the first set of character stills below, which are just as boring as OG’s were last year. SETTV released three teasers already and funny enough it only features Roy in every one. In two of them, Roy is seen talking to and proposing to a screw, which is a play on the Chinese title which translates into Miss Screw is Getting Married. If anyone cares how that title turned into Miss Rose, the word “screw” in Chinese is pronounced “luo si”, hence the “rose” in the English title.
Word on the street is that Roy actually passed out while filming a scene last week, a combination of the heat and exhaustion. This does not bode well for him being involved in a sure to be months long shoot for MR.

There are so many familiar faces from OG, and some from IP! Even Zi Qi’s awesome buddy Paul! Am kinda feeling lack-luster Ya, it feels like a corporate office series starting from OG (小資女孩向前衝 and 螺絲小姐要出嫁)! Feels like “命中注定我爱你” and “醉后决定爱上你” XDDDDD

I have to disagree about Love Forward. I thought the acting was some of the best I’ve seen in T drama. I find any T drama over 16 episodes usually becomes slow but the writers of LF did a great job of keeping me tuned in.
As for Office Girls it was the most boring drama ive seen after ep 10 and the acting by Alice Ke was very diss appointing.
I like the leads for Miss Rose so I’ll watch but I don’t know if I could take another painfully boring office drama. At least the writers are different so I have some hope…
Looking forward to this! Hope that Roy and Megan have good chemistry! Also hope that this is the breakout role for Megan. I’ve liked her since Silence and always felt that she was missing the one role to catapult her to first line status.
