Full Single Downlink of Rich Man, Poor Woman Theme Including English Version Remix

I’m having too much fun on my vacation that episode 6′s general crapitude doesn’t bother me anymore, other than a sense of what-could-have-been with Rich Man, Poor Woman‘s story development. I don’t need the OTP to get together or even the story to be romance-focused as opposed to toggling office-driven plot twists, what I do need is for whatever is told to be compelling and make sense. So far Asahina’s takeover plot of Next Innovation is all sorts of ridiculously overwrought (he smashes his foot!) and extreme (he’ll tank NI just to wash out Hyuga’s shares). I thought the guy was smart (and he was introduced as such), but suddenly he’s become a thumb-twiddling villain that thinks with his simmering jealousy. I don’t doubt he’s got issues playing Hyuga’s number two, I just think it laughable that one put down from Sakaguchi could flip the switch on him.

I just want the drama to get back to what it does best, which is show Hyuga trying to figure things out and Makoto’s different perspective helping him along. I even want the missing-mommy bit to come back to play. Hello? He’s been looking for her for years, and now that Makoto has told him where she lives, he doesn’t even go find her? A day trip would be fine. Anything other than hanging around his house where Yoko can make a sneak attack and show up with her smiles and wine and take advantage of him being down. Until episode 7 redeems the dorama for me, I’m off to stare at more cute pictures of Hyuga-Makoto as well as listen to Miwa‘s OST for the drama. Below is the download for the entire single release, including the English-remix version of the theme song “Hikari e”.

Download Miwa’s new 5-track single “Hikari e” here (mediafire zip with password: DiRinzuki):

1. ヒカリへ (Hikari e)
2. Napa
3. HiKARiE (Remix) ~English version~
4. ヒカリへ ~instrumental~
5. 僕が僕であるために (bonus track) (Boku ga boku de aru tame ni)

  1. Loving this drama!! Can’t wait for episode 7 and more Makoto & Hyuga cuteness!! ^__^

Btw THANK YOU for the OST downloads! Can’t get enough of the songs from this drama either.

  2. Ooooh! Thanks

I do listen to both versions all the time in the car and when I have to do a lot of non-thinking work.

I love the song, and it gives me that giddy feeling I get watching the show, and when I watch the show and hear the OST, I get that giddy feeling from listening to the song. So it’s an ouroboros thing.

  3. THANK you for providing the OST download link!

I’m excited to read your future recap about Makoto & Hyuga’s cuteness esp Makoto. That girl is tooo adorbs!!

  4. Thank for the download link!
I’m onto Ep 4 now, can’t say I love it… only love the OTP scenes.
I really like the theme song though, so catchy.

  5. Thank you. I agree with you about the plot-lines. There should be more of Hyuga and less of Asahina, more about Hyuga’s mother and more of Hyuga and Makoto solving problems together. Or just simply being together :-)
I actually haven’t watched ep6 yet. Waiting for the 7th to watch them back-to-back to dampen the disappointment. Or so I hope (that the 7th ep will go back to the good stuff).

As for the OST, what is the translation of the names of the songs?
“To The Light” and “That’s me”?? A very wild guess from google translate :-)))

  6. I am actually looking for the slow version of the English remix! Or the ‘musically-box’ like tune. Guess I have to wait till the OST is released :[

  7. to bad you didn’t like episode 6 but i really enjoyed it despite some people’s dislike. its was interesting to watch huga break and see his really helpless side for a moment. i don’t know why but i liked episode 6. so i’ll have to disagree with you on that part. other then that i love the ost for this drama. so nice to listen to. episode 7 is out but it doesn’t have subs.

    • I also liked Episode 6, or rather, I was expecting to hate it after reading others’ comments, but was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t suck at all. I am all for more adorable Hyuga and Makoto scenes, but I get that the writers are trying to show us that Hyuga has “other” options (this would be more realistic, since a 29-yr old multi-billionaire who is as good-looking as Tohru would definitely have women going after him). I think, ideally, Tohru should be favoring Yoko more since they are equal in terms of professional and financial status. Plus, Yoko certainly cannot be accused of “not trying enough” to get Hyuga’s attention, so what if Tohru gave in just a little? The last part of the episode leading up to the ending is actually satisfying for me just because we all saw how Hyuga was first calling Makoto. Quite simply, he chose her. It is she he wants when he was at his most vulnerable.

As for the Asahina angle, his sudden turn from loyal friend to all-out traitor is definitely eyebrow-raising, but still not so unbelievable. After all, human nature is diverse enough to accommodate kooks like Asahina. My take on this is, the writers are trying to create a situation where Hyuga is forced to stand alone and prove his worth. Also to get Hyuga in a stituatio where he only has Makoto to turn to. I get this, but i just wish they had thought of another way to bring this about. Maybe Asahina could’ve just died? (heheh) Or he could have suddenly eloped with some woman off to some faraway and remote island where any communication, online or not, is virtuallu impossible (i know, totally random, right?)

But, i still like RMPW. That scene in Episode 7 where Hyuga and Makoto where walking side by side along the sidewalk , it was so moving that when Makoto said she wants to sya by Hyuga’s side, i really felt it. Ihey were so right for each other that I really, really wanted them to be together. And then the scene after that when Hyuga was walking alone, he seemed so lonely that “I” want to be by his side and comfort him. Hahaha! But not so much as I want him and Makoto to get together and be as happy, adorable and cute as ever!

Thanks Koala for this update. Til your next RMPW post!

  8. Yup! The writers messed up big on that one, only one person’s allowed to have such a drastic personality change in kdramaland and that’s Gaksital’s Shunji lolz

  9. I am so curious what you think of episode 7! I’m still holding off on watching episode 6 until I get confirmation that it does, in fact, get better :).

  10. Does anyone know the song that plays at the beginning of episode 2, like when they recap episode #1? I don’t think Miwa sings it, and it’s like background music, but good background music! Miwa is alright, but her heart and fluffy song does not go with the heavy tones. i.e. episode 7 at the end, I mean C’MON! That song with that scene, no, just plain no.

  11. thank you so much koalaaa… you are my hero in dramaland, ahahaha… you make me fall in love more deeply in rich man poor woman, helping me in choose a nice tw-drama (miss rose and office girl), and you givee me a guuud recap of my fav kdrama!! aaaah… you make me love ouran high school too…
    thank you so much koalaa!!
