First Intriguing Teaser for Nice Guy with Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won

Good things come to those who wait, and I’ve been patiently waiting for Nice Guy to premiere therefore the first teaser is indeed as good as I had hoped. This drama looks dark and twisty, and starting off a teaser with Song Joong Ki purposely french kissing a girl is clearly going to catch my attention right off the bat. My only reservation is that this drama reminds me of screenwriter Lee Kyung Hee‘s own A Love to Kill with Rain and Shin Mina, where Rain was out to revenge seduce the leading lady and ends up falling in love with her. It’s not my favorite Lee Kyung Hee drama, but tons of people love it to pieces for how melodramatic and angsty it was. I like that the two leading ladies Moon Chae Won and Park Shi Young are evenly matched, both in terms of their strong female characters and their acting ability. I don’t think any of the three main leads will be one-dimensionally sympathetic, which makes for great entertainment as we parse the shades of grey to glimpse the nice and not-so-nice parts that reside in all of us.

First teaser for Nice Guy:

Eun Gi: I’m intrigued by you.

Jae Hee: I will do anything to reach my goal. Don’t go to Eun Gi please!

Maru: What I did to save you, I won’t destroy you without first getting some satisfaction.

Jae Hee: Did I turn you into this cold heartless man?

  1. WOW It’s not my type of drama, but every time a teaser or photos come out i feel intrigue by the series, i think i’m gonna give it a try 😀 Song Joong Ki I Love U

  2. I just love how hard Song Joongki works. He knows he’s pretty but that doesn’t limit the choice of dramas he picks. This will for sure change his image. A pretty boy needs to grow up eventually. Excited to watch this. Ever since Park Shiyoung got married, she started to have this certain sensuality in her. It’s really captivating. Even just looking at pictures of her, I become intrigued. Also, I’m talking to you too Mr. Jang Guen Suk.

  4. Saw this earlier today..love!!…kudos to SJK who’s really pulling it off…now I just want to see more of him and MCW together…the release of this teaser and Moon Geun Young’s drama confirmation totally made my day

    • I know! His angry eyes!
Now I understand that cliche, “You know you are even more beautiful when you are angry.”
      Hot stuff, there.

  5. JOONG-KI OPPA~~~~~~~! ~massive flail~

Omo. I want this NOW. I don’t fangirl over just anybody, I need my Joong-ki oppa on my screen STAT!

    /fangirling

I don’t usually like melos, but I’m definitely sticking this one out, come hell or high water (or daddy/mommy issues) just for SJK. I’m glad the three main characters are all such strong actors, because I think it could tip the balance in how well this drama carries the (frankly intense, over-the-top) premise.

  6. Hot mama… bring it ON!!! sigh and another tissue box to be used up 🙁
What we do for SJK presence on our screen 🙂
The cast is excellent, hoping as well the writing will be good and not turn to crap…

  7. September, come now!! This month has been a great kdrama month for me! Arang has been fantastic and TTBY has been cute! Now I’m ready for some heartbreak and Joongki-yummy <3

  8. In Korea.,just 5 hour after this teaser out.,it’s can be said the teaser become BOOM fastly..
many viewers show their curiousity and excited to watch NG..
you can watch people comment at KBS..It’s was awesome..
the atmosphere really look promising for NG..Good Luck!

  9. OMG, Park Shi-yeon looks great in those stills! “A Love To Kill” was my very first K-drama (it gave me a pretty weird impression of those, until I later gave them another try XD), and the first few episodes were compelling, if confusing, but then it just ended up…weird. Loved Shin Min-ah there, though, been her fan ever since.
But I think it’ll be quite different, after all, he wanted to avenge his hyung based on a misunderstanding there, while here he went to prison for PSY’s character and then she just dropped him. I’m intrigued! Though prepared for the latter half to fall flat, as it tends to with her. Actually didn’t finish MISA (even though I finished ALTK, I know, but that was at a different time in my life). We’ll see ^^

  10. Thanks for this!
SJK was the first actor I was completely obsessed with. Sure I had had crushes, but this guy haunted my dreams during and after SKKS.

We have seen shows wobble even with good actors when the writing is lack-luster, and we have definitely seen shows crash and burn if the actors or directors don’t have control.
This is one of of those perfect situations.
    Good writing, directing and acting.

People may want to steer clear because it is a melo, but it’ll be the BEST melo we have had in a while.

  11. I feel like I’m finally reaping some rewards after waiting for SJK to finish his movie than pick a new drama project. It was a long, long wait but can’t complain when the results look as good as A Werewolf Boy and Nice Guy. NG is still very much a work in progress but I can’t help it, I’m beyond excited to see him back on the screen, doing what he does best. And I’m loving his chemistry with MCW. Yes, this is a ridiculously gushy ‘all about SJK’ reaction, but did I mention I’ve waited too long?

  12. Actually I am more interested in MCW’s portrayal of an icy chaebol. And that interest was intensified by that picture above. There is this feeling of “mockery” in the way she looks at PSY. Most of cold and icy characters are just plain emotionless, uncaring, objective driven, talk-to-my-hand type of cold but it seems that she isn’t just that. Looks like she’s manipulative and confrontational even. Probably I am reading too much from that 3rd picture – the way she places her hand at the machine and the way she looks at PSY. Hooh. Please! Make all the characters interesting – gritty, dark, and twisted beings. I want those on my screen.

  13. Korean film and tv industry love Wong Kar Wai…….there’s always a WKW homage or reference…..As a WKW and Kfilms/dramas fan…….It makes me love Kfilms and dramas even more. Now…..if only Kpop wasn’t so lame.

  14. Wow.. I really want to watch it. Joong Ki as the scorned lover would be awesome! I love his angry look! I want to watch more…

I also think the leads will have great chemistry.. I thought with Park Shi Yeon the age gap will show, but instead she looks young. All of them look on the top of their game.
