First Teaser for Missing You with Yoon Eun Hye and Yoochun

The first teaser is out for Missing You, which makes sense since Arang and the Magistrate ended today though the drama won’t premiere for another two weeks. Still, it’s nice to get an inkling as to what to expect. Can I sound like a crazy Koala broken record and remind the producers that there is still no second male lead confirmed for this project. Unless he’s been filming under the umbrella of secrecy and to divulge his identity is a matter of national security. It definitely isn’t Chun Jung Myung since his agent stated this week that he’s taking on a rom-com movie role next. I guess not having a second male lead isn’t a drama deal breaker at this stage, especially since this teaser only consists of the two leads, both the youthful incarnation of Yeo Jin Gu and Kim So Hyun as well as the adults of Yoo Chun and Yoon Eun Hye. All compatibility issues should be put aside because its clear Yoochun and Eun Hye look great together, and both are bringing on the eye pain already in the trailer. What’s really not clicking with me is the story, which feels so old-school and the execution so, dare I say it, cheesy. I mean cheesy not in the haute French cheese way, but in the Velveeta style. I’ll definitely be watching it, and only the kids section will be going up against Nice Guy which wraps up when the adults show up in MY so the drama ought to have a good chance at a ratings grab. Not to mention Nice Guy’s follow up is Jeon Woo Chi, so it’ll probably be splitting the sageuk audience with The Great Seer. Check out the English-subbed teaser below and form your own first impression.

First Teaser for Missing You with Yoon Eun Hye and Yoochun — 34 Comments

  1. oh great first teaser i must say Captain!

those kids are so cute together its not funny!

looking forward to watching this coz i have missed eunhye 🙂

who knows maybe yoochun will grow on me!!!!

    thanks Captain!!! 🙂

  2. I’m so excited about this drama! YEH just tweeted the trailer an hour ago ^^ I’ve really missed seeing Yoon Eun Hye on screen 🙂 It’s her first melodrama and it already looks promising for me. It’s also a bonus to see how good YEH and Yoochun look together in the teaser.

  3. I knew it! There had to be a murder involved with someone’s family members (in this case LSY) in order for such a grand separation to occur and for him to become a homicide detective.

I agree with Capt K. The scenes that they are showing seem really cheesy and straight out of melodrama trailer 101 from back in the day. I still have grand hopes for this drama. I don’t think that the actual scenes will come off that way (at least I hope not).

But I wonder if this is a drama where the OTP spends the majority of the drama apart. 🙁 Another I hope not.

  4. Thanks koala for the heads up!

I am not an expert though so I can’t give a formed opinion based on a few seconds teasers but one thing I like CHEESY hahaha. . .

Locking forward to these new coupling!

  5. From this teaser.,i feel like i watch Love Rain teaser.I didn’t see any interesting.So.,i know what will outcome from this drama.;-(

  6. i am definitely chasing this drama,,.the child actors are amazing and pretty kids…the song so touching..i am dying to see Yeh….and this time watching YC he looks manly now..

    Cant wait….

  7. I agree with the people here who likes CHEESY…. I love cheesy… I don’t know why but I do. And I also love me some melodrama, so this is what I’m really looking for. Something about having my own heart throbbing in pain even though it didn’t happen to me is awesome. It means that I’m really invested, like in “One Liter of Tears” which I watched I don’t know how many times already, but I always go back to watch.
Plus, Yoon Eun Hye is my ultimate and only bias.

Super excited for this drama… Can’t wait!!! 😀

  8. I will definitely watch first episodes of this drama although i do agree it looks cheesy. When the drama was first mentioned I secretly hoped it would be something like Love Me If You Dare (french movie), where the leads embark on a close friendship that revolves around daring each other to pull increasingly audacious practical jokes, rather than on the seemingly obvious intimate relationship. Only in this drama there would be some other game that separates leads for some time. Well I can dream…

  9. I think it looks so cute…a tad melodramatic but overall its a mellow vibe that I like…I just hope they can make this first love thing believable…that said aren’t the kiddos too cute for words?…Yeo Jin Gu is growing up very beautifully indeed…I sincerely hope this doesn’t turn out the way the MTETS turned out

  10. Major LOL’ing at this “Unless he’s been filming under the umbrella of secrecy and to divulge his identity is a matter of national security” 😀

Really curious at who will be the 2nd male lead ???

Anyway, your article always bring my smile up Mrs K, thanks 😉

  11. Haha, Velveeta style, indeed. But it was Velveeta cheese that pulled me into Kdramaland back in the days. As much as I like sampling all the new trendy cheeses out there, a good Velveeta still hits the spot every time. So yes, I am gonna gobble this up.^^

  12. It’s cheesy but damn, the 2 kids are so cute together. Maybe I have to watch the children’s section just to see them like each other. After all they were on the opposite camps in TMETS ( forgot the acronynm )

  13. Seriously I NEED an addictive kdrama! It’s been months maybe even a year since I’ve experienced a burst of “OMG what’s gonna happen next!!!?” Last year was a blessing with good and tear-jerking kdramas with brilliant OTPs like Lie To Me, Greatest Love, City Hunter, Secret Garden (SO addictive!), My Princess, 49 Days (WHAT a drama!) and this year I’ve struggled to finish a single series coz the interest just fizzles out. PUHLEASE let this be the one!

  14. I’m not sure why but I find it really cheesy in a nostalgic way. Say what? I didn’t even understand what I just said. I guess the first trailer just didn’t work for me.

  15. It’s cheese, cheese and more cheese, especially the nasty processed cheese kind, but I love the child actors! Gosh darn it, I may end up watching just their parts.

  16. I’m curently watching Five Fingers and will stick with it all the way through, so I don’t know how soon I’ll be up for more makjang & tears. But…… I gotta admit, the teaser piqued my interest. And besides, its YEH!! And Yoochun. I kinda like him (as an actor).

Ok, I just made up my mind to join the viewers who are ready for cheese. Looks like I’m in!

  17. Thank you so much for the update, I was truly fascinated thinking about my two favorite KOREAN actors, well matched!Park Yoo Chun still looking so good & handsomer as ever in his new hair cut. Looking forward for the new series. Honestly it’s going to be another big hit for filipino viewers! Good luck!

  18. Looks very sad….tears will follow….YEH is one of my favourites, Yoochun (always my favourite) – his acting keeps improving with each new drama…he makes me smile and cry….can’t wait for this drama to begin. The teenage versions look wonderful too. I hope it has a happy ending. I am a follower of the JYJ boys, they seem to be doing well in all fields….makes me a happy little vegemite 🙂
