Yoon Eun Hye is one of the CF queens of Korean entertainment and in a cute case of real life imitating dramas, she’s just been picked by MAC as the face of its new line of mineral lip sticks launching in Korea this Spring. The reason I say its real life imitating fiction is something that folks who watched Missing You will get the reference but I’ll explain for those who elected not to watch that weepfest. In MY, Yoon Eun Hye got as much attention for her acting as abuse child-rape victim-fashion designer as she got for the lipstick she wore in the drama. She wore this electric pink color called Schiap by MAC, and subsequently that lipstick and every other hot pink lipstick pretty much sold out in Korea. I’m not a fan of that color at all, if I go bold I go MAC Viva Glam I or Russian Red. But I was mesmerized and fascinated by Yoon Eun Hye’s lipstick in that drama, it really popped onscreen and was striking without coming across as gaudy. Apparently MAC knows a good spokemodel when they see one and promptly snapped up Yoon Eun Hye to showcase their new Spring colors. In the just released ads, she models an electric pink similar to Schiap but with more sheen, an orange that reminds me of a St. Tropez Summer, and a coral that is perfect for walks along the pier on a sunny day. Once again these are not colors I gravitate towards but good golly do they look stunning when she wears it on her luscious lips. I definitely am heading to the MAC counter just to try it on and see if it works for my skin tone. I think the most wearable one is the coral, but if I want to be daring I’ll try out the electric pink. I’m glad she’s all airbrushed and dolled up here because it was super depressing to see her swollen eyes paired with bright lipstick that towards the end of MY just looked incongruous. Once again Yoon Eun Hye does her magic on me, either that or she’s always endorsing stuff I’d naturally want to buy.
