Lee Min Ho for Esquire Korea September Edition and Heirs Officially Commences Filming

Lee Min Ho has spent the Summer traveling around Asia doing various mini-concert fan meetings and it’s likely time well spent for his pocket books and for drumming up interest in his upcoming K-drama Those Who Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight: The Heirs. It’s been over two years since his last modern drama City Hunter so his fans are likely chomping at the bit to see him acting like a cool flower boy again, but his leading lady Park Shin Hye has been on television already this year with the low key and lovely Flower Boy Next Door that was a step up for her acting repertoire. I hope in Heirs Lee Min Ho doesn’t just repeat his performance as Gu Jun Pyo from Boys Before Flowers and that Park Shin Hye doesn’t turn into Geum Jan Di v. 2.0. Lee Min Ho graces the cover and pages of the September edition of Esquire Korea and I’m feeling ambivalent about the end product. He does look good in the outfits but the poses are random and weird especially the one with the dirty bathtub. It just seems awkward because its him – I don’t know why but Lee Min Ho does not ever incite the notion that he is secretly dirty, sexy, and hot. Instead he’s really got the metrosexual flower boy thing down pat. For Heirs, Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye go back to high school along with a bursting at the seams cast of Kim Woo Bin, Kim Ji Won, Kang Min Hyuk of CNBlue, Krystal of f(x), Kang Na Neul, Park Hyung Sik of ZE:A, along with Choi Jin Hyuk and Im Joo Eun playing their ages as the adults in this story. It’s pretty much confirmed now that Kim Ji Won will be playing fiancee Rachel Ryu while Krystal plays ex-girlfriend Lee Bo Na and will have significant screen time with Kang Min Hyuk’s character. The drama started filming officially on August 16th, with Park Shin Hye posting a picture of her and the script for episode 1. Initially I thought it started filming 2 weeks ago but that was just a CF for Shin Hye. Lee Min Ho is still in New Zealand filming a CF but he should be joining the cast shortly. Ready or not, here comes Heirs premiering October 9th after The Master’s Sun on SBS.

Lee Min Ho for Esquire Korea September Edition and Heirs Officially Commences Filming — 22 Comments

  1. Uh,.. Hasn’t it been only last year since he finished his last drama? If I’m not mistaken I’m pretty sure he did Faith last year with Kim Hee Sun..

  2. OMG!!!!!!!!!! He is SO HOT
No wonder his fans call him Lee Min-Hot 🙂
Waiting for Heirs. I hope its not too disappointing. Just be decent enough to be able to see these many amazing actors on my screen.

  3. Omg LMH looks really odd and weird -.- I don’t think I like any of the pics at all! Esquire needs to get new photographers. Seung Gi was featured for this month and even if he looked smokin hot, I saw nothing of Hawaii other than a hotel sign. And now this… Ugh.

Anyway, I feel like it was yesterday since heirs was announced. I can’t believe it will air in a few weeks. Time flies; but my interest remains rock bottom. It can only go up from there.

  4. What was so interesting and amazing about LMH in BOF,despite the hair, is the second he came on screen, he was a star.

I don’t want him to repeat the same character, but I do hope he gets to have the same chutzpah and act like he is god’s give to woman kind. He does that so well.

As far as PSH, I totally agree with you. Begging the drama gods NOT to give us a mushy Jandi type again. PSH has come a long way and doesn’t deserve a character like that! No Candy Candy, please!

  5. I love that last pic of him. The others are ‘meh’. I don’t know why, despite really loving most of the cast, I’m not that excited about Heirs. Maybe because it’s been hyped for so long, waaaay before it’s premiere. Or maybe because I’m not really looking forward to seeing people that have played great adult roles going back to playing highschoolers. I’m hoping I stay neutral about it, that way if it’s any good it will at least be above my expectations, lol~!

  6. Literally everything about this drama gives off BOF mk II vibes – from the storyline we know of, to the casting (PSH was considered for the role fo Jan-di too, back in ’08) to the fact that Kim Woo-bin’s real name is actually Kim Hyun-joong. lol.

I still look forward to it though, cannot wait for October to see Woobie My Wuv again!

  7. He looks like Choi Siwon not that he is not cute too. It has been too long. I liked Faith alot. I know he wanted to show his sword skills since boys over flowers.

  8. bathtub picture = no. A big no. I can’t move my eyes from his non-existent groin. Well, except to catch a glimpse at the ugly fur.
Open-mouth picture = meh. Don’t like the clothes, don’t like his expression.
    Camera picture = yes!

    *Patiently waiting for Heirs*

    • @Elina Hahaha, your comment made me go back and check his …portofolio…his package, his personality….whatever word you want to use the meaning is the same.LoL.Actually ,looking at them I get the impression the photoshopped his photo b/c IT can not be so flat, esp. in 2nd photo.Do not worry ,his big nose and long fingers indicating the opposite…

  9. YAayi ! After masters sun ! Omo omo ! But I will be starting my first year collage ! I will have no yiiime ! But ill make some ! Thanks

  10. I dont like his hair here, its not prince-charmingly. He should not wear this in his new drama the Heirs; remember it’s all about the Hair, it could make it or break one’s appearance in acting.
