Yoon Eun Hye and Lee Dong Gun Lead the Script Reading for Future’s Choice

Yoon Eun Hye! With Lee Dong Gun! In a drama! Together! Playing a future married couple! With five exclamations in a row, I’m not quite sure my excitement is properly conveyed so let me just say that the first official script reading stills of the cast of Future’s Choice (Mi Rae’s Choice) rendered me gobsmacked with giddiness quite like a sugar high. This time-travel rom-com sounds like my kind of cute plus interesting – heroine Mi Rae has spent the last three decades married to a certain man and somehow travels back in time to try and convince her younger self not to pick that very guy. I don’t know what future Kim Shin (Lee Dong Gun) did to piss off his wifey future Mi Rae (Yoon Eun Hye), I reckon it must take a whole lotta love to care so deeply that one wants to erase a marriage from the time line. Also attending the script reading is second male lead Jung Yong Hwa and second female lead Han Chae Ah, who will have a love line of their own first but it’ll get complicated once its entwined with Mi Rae and Kim Shin’s budding romance. Established actress Choi Myung Gil steps in as the time traveling older Mi Rae who gets a chance to influence her younger self not to walk down the path she took. The concept of time-traveling is one that resides solely in science fiction so the consequences of it can be explored in fiction in various ways. I prefer the concept that simply by time-traveling back a person has already subtly altered events so much so that even if the same choices are made the outcome could be different. Think The Butterfly Effect, where its the time-traveling and not the changing of decisions that makes the difference. This drama will be set in the entertainment world, with Mi Rae a budding screenwriter (probably a stand-in for writer Hong Ji Ah), Kim Shin is an ill-tempered perfectionist announcer/MC, Jung Yong Hwa’s Park Se Joo a cameraman but hiding the fact that he’s the grandson of the owner of the network and working as an undercover boss, and Han Chae Ah as Seo Yoo Kyung a morning show reporter. Future’s Choice airs in early October after Good Doctor on KBS Mon-Tues. And don’t worry about Yoon Eun Hye’s ridiculous perm, her character will only sport that hair style for a short period of time in the drama. Whew.

  1. Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Dong Gun are brothers ??? they have the same features
YEH really her smile glowing I love her 😀 but the hair need to be more fixed she is beautiful 🙁

  2. Hmmm…I’m not keen on Yoon Eun Hye’s new hairdo. I’ve always loved her look but the messy curls are not flattering this time. Hope they do something about it for the show.

    • guys, read carefully what koala’s written on her last sentence –> And don’t worry about Yoon Eun Hye’s ridiculous perm, her character will only sport that hair style for a short period of time in the drama. Whew.

  3. This is the only time I think Lee Dong Gun is good looking…

His face is smaller now which better fits his high cheek bones…

Hmm… Yoon In Hye and Lee Dong Gun.. a fresh looking couple.

    • guys, read carefully what koala’s posted, dont just look at the photos! She said “And don’t worry about Yoon Eun Hye’s ridiculous perm, her character will only sport that hair style for a short period of time in the drama. Whew.”

  4. as koala have said not to worry about the hair, its done on purpose for the drama but only for a short period! i am sooooooo looking forward for this drama! love yeh and with ldg an actor with much more experience seems like an icing on a cake!

  5. The premise reminds me a bit of “The Time Traveler’s Wife” by Audrey Niffenegger – but only a bit. 🙂 Hopefully I will like this drama with YEH. I didn’t like neither “I miss you” nor “Lie to me”.

  6. Thanks for the post Koala. It is nice to see an older man lead to a younger female lead (with chemistry), not to mention that they are both experienced in acting. Just for that I think I’ll check this drama out. The actors being YEH and LDG makes the motivation to watch even more alluring.

  7. LDGun is so attractive here. And Thank you Koala for clarifying that issue with YEH ‘s hairdo.Does she need the perm for some scenes from the ’80’s?
It ‘s only explanation i can give.

  8. I am looking forward this drama, there was time in life you thinking what happen if I am single or married another person..will see what makes Mirae choices..

  9. So is the time-setting for the drama the 80s??? Are there call-center agents in the 80s??? Not that I could recall. Anyway, love seeing Lee Dong Gun, still as handsome as ever, and oh yeah they’re like brothers w/ YongHwa, so much resemblance. But Yoon Eun Hye’s hair is so big trouble. I hope the script, story, etc is really made well. So eager to see them in action!

  10. I love LDG (gosh, he’s really hot!) but the rest of the casts are just average. I really can’t see YEH’s appeal. They don’t match. Hopefully, she will prove me wrong…for now, my only reason to watch this is for LDG.

  11. I’m soooo extremely happy to see Lee Dong Gun back in the Kdrama world! I was totally convinced that he had retired, since he had that big shock with his brother’s death just before enlistment. I hope he is totally ok now.

    • I was wondering about LDG ‘missing’ from screen for the longest time. Not my fav actor but I just somehow will always remember him 🙂 Looking forward to this show!

  12. These shots have been a revelation for me. Not the photos themselves, but the reaction to them, or more specifically, to the photos of YEH’s hair. I don’t think it’s that terrible personally, but the absolute inability of so many people to grok that actors change how they look to inhabit a character has come as a real surprise. I had no idea that it was such a hard idea to take on board.

  13. Jung YongHwa had a choice between acting with Park Shin Hye and Yoon Eun Hye…. I am not surprise he chose Yoon Eun Hye, which young actors would not do the same?

    • Don’t start unnecessary stuff. He is under an agency, remember that. So who knows how ‘personal’ his choices are? Definitely not you or even me. Just focus on the drama.

  14. Gaaaahhh!!! *spazzing. So.much.pretty. I’m loving all the leads. LDG and JYH look soooo haawwttt! Seriously can’t choose between the two.

I’m not worrying about my girl YEH’s hair. She can wear sack cloth for all I care and I would still love her.

    Can’t wait!

  15. I flipping love love love Yoon Eun Hye. There is something about her. I pray that God keeps her and guides her on the path that he wishes for her. And that she, through the good and the bad times, lean on him and know that he is there. In Jesus name I pray Amen.
Got to pray for my girl she is just lovely and she just shines man.

And look at Dong Gun, so grrrr. There us just something about him that always pulls me. Good luck Jong Hwa, he looks like he is ready to handle the chaebol with a conscience role.

  16. no matter what goes down, you have hair like that, have a bag over her head she always exudes that special aura that makes it so unique and shiny, single YEH I love this girl, I can certainly not hold out until October is God who comes fast, this drama is killing me….

  17. I have to respect yeh for bravely perm her hair for a drama. She got my respect there. And ldg my fav actor and my first crush. Tough Yonghwa cant really act but surprisingly i cant wait to see this drama. It has most of my fav cast and my fav theme. Love revolution.

  18. Woaaah, so many friendship bracelets on Yoon Eun Hye. It looks almost like the handmade bracelet in ‘Cheongdamdong Alice’. That was really good drama too btw. I really hope YEH also works w/ Park Si Hoo in the future, would be the best dream OTP (for me)! Good luck to Future’s Choice, I’d be watching this because of YEH, LDG and YongHwa!

  19. Although the older version kind of time-traveling played by an older actress is ok, I was hoping that it’s also Yoon Eun Hye of her version from past or future story; I dont know how is that, but it doesnt seem like this kind of story. But if ever, I could choose an older version of Yoon Eun Hye, I can always think of that actress who played Jumong’s mom, Oh Yeon Soo, really beautiful like Yoon Eun Hye. Anyway, Good luck to Future’s Choice!
