What has Kang Ji Hwan been up to lately? Quite a lot actually but none of it is on the drama front. Since wrapping his road trip movie Shoot for the Sun in LA during the Summer, he’s been busy preparing for a fan meeting in Japan where he is still very popular. The fan meeting happened last weekend and also coincided with the Japanese release of his last drama Incarnation of Money. I tried so hard to watch that one but could never get into either the storyline or the characters and bailed despite my Kang Ji Hwan love. Sometimes it happens, loving an actor doesn’t require loving everything he does. Maybe that makes me a bad fan, but I do know it keeps me sane and happy. After the fan meeting wrapping, Kang Ji Hwan zapped back to South Korea and was seen days later out at the Johnny Walker House black tie soiree. I love Kang Ji Hwan in suits and tuxes, and while I personally prefer a classic black tux, for whatever reason Kang Ji Hwan is one of those guys that actually pulls off an all-white tux even better than he does a black one. I actually couldn’t even concentrate on the tux because Kang Ji Hwan’s eyebrows were shaped with such an arch that he looked like he was raising his eyebrows in all his pictures. That, and looking mildly alarmed. It was a lot better days earlier at the fan meeting in Japan so check out all the pictures below for yourselves. Apparently at the fan meeting he interacted with the fans per the usual dealio, but he also put on a one-act play that was exclusively performed for the first time there. That is so cool, and as a trained stage and musical actor he’s always struck me as most at home on a live stage. He revealed during the Q&A session that the character closest to his real personality was his Goo Jae Hee in Be Strong Geum Soon whereas the hardest performance he’s given so far was in Incarnation of Money. Something to mull over as he heads into the next stage of his career being represented by his own self-formed agency called ChoEun Entertainment. Cho is for his real last name and Eun is for something that y’all can speculate on your own. Tee hee.
