Happy Mid-autumn: My Secret Hotel Preempted and My Lovely Girl Prepares for Premiere

Happy Zhong Qiu/Chuseok everyone! It’s the annual mid-autumn festival in the Asian countries that still celebrate it, namely Korea and Greater China (Mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong) for us following along with its dramas. Japan celebrates it as Tsukimi or the moon viewing holiday, and the mid-autumn festival is always the 15th day of the 8th month on the lunar calendar. Each country has its own traditions whether historical or more modern when it comes to the holiday known for people going home to spend time with the family. In Taiwan everyone BBQs and eats pomelos (and puts the carved skin as a hat on the head) while in Korea it’s eating rice cakes and watching lots of movies and specials on television. The mid-autumn holiday also means regular programming preemption on some networks so today there is unfortunately no new episode of My Secret Hotel on tvN. *big sad pout* The MSH preemption is for both nights of its regular airing so episode 7 won’t air until next Monday the 15th.

The big three networks all aired its dramas on schedule with Discovery of Romance on KBS, Temptation on SBS, and Records of a Night Watchman on MBC. I feel like tvN is specifically thwarting me. The leads of MSH did write personal Chuseok greetings for fans of the drama and I see Yoo In Na and Jin Yi Han wearing hanboks above while Namgong Min is in his usual snazzy suit. I wonder if it’s for the Chuseok picture only or the two leads are going to have a traditional Korean wedding ceremony down the line? Soooo many questions but oh so exciting. The cast of My Lovely Girl on SBS also wrote handwritten Chuseok greetings and posed for pictures to keep drumming up more interest in the drama as it premieres next Wednesday. It’s the Wed-Thurs drama I’m most interested in despite trepidation over the full casting and falling in love with successive sisters story line. It still looks way more sane/promising than Iron Man, kekeke.

  1. Whatda? No episode this week? Been waiting up all night for a recap or any kind of update every where and then, there’s no episode 7. -sigh-

Just wondering,do wedding hanboks look the same with Chuseok hanboks?

What am i going to do for the whole week?

  2. Is that Lee Jun Ki in blond hair again??
It’s crazy how he dyes his hair so quickly after filming. He sure does rock different colors of hair, though.

  3. i am not so happy with tvn not showing My Secret Hotel, while the other big channels shown their dramas.

    i miss my baby JYH/GHY…
and i have to endure this longing for another week.
why are you doing this to me tvn???

    anyway, better late than never..
    happy mid-autumn to everybody here…

  4. I’m glad that I’m not the only one who think about the possibility of SH & HY traditional wedding~
But sad we wont get ep 7&8 this week.

  5. Pomelos – I had no idea what it was called in english until today. just didn’t bother to look it up! I should eat the ones in my fridge and the mooncake. LOL Way too busy today.

  6. Happy Chuseok /Zhong Qiu to all who celebrate!

I do not look forward to any of the Wed-Thurs dramas this time but Iron Man looks soooo bad.

  7. NO! Not My Secret Hotel too! This makes it both dramas I am currently watching that have had their episodes postponed – Hi! School: Love On had their episode postponed on Friday as well.
I cannot express my disappointment in words right now.
This is probably a sign that I should finish the only other drama I’m watching which is I Miss You.

  8. Buahaha over your last sentence. Even when the idols and the plots don’t interest me, My Lovely Girl and My Spring Days look way better than Iron Man/Blade Man. I wonder why KBS push the drama when it’s not even good to begin with. I can be wrong on the story though, but SSK effectively kills my interest on it.
