Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jin Wook’s Short Romance Ends with Confirmed Break Up

When celebrities start dating there are only one of two outcomes – marriage or break up. And even the marriage option can later end with break up. I doubt we’ll be around for the til death do us part to arrive but it is still sad when the break up of two lovely celebs happens on my watch. Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jin Wook are both busy as all out with recent K-dramasĀ andĀ in the news quite frequently these last few months. It’s easy to assume things are going swimmingly in their four month long dating relationship since the early honeymoon phase isn’t even over with, plus Gong Hyo Jin is known for going the distance in her relationships as her dated her last boyfriend Ryu Seung Bum for over 10 years. Sadly it’s not to be as representatives for both Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jin Wook have confirmed that the couple quietly broke up recently. It’s actually less sad if considered as a summer fling of sorts with two very attractive and quirky individuals

Relationships take time to nurture and both Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jin Wook have been filming their respective K-dramas since news broke of their dating. Gong Hyo Jin has been immersed in It’s Okay, It’s Love since early spring and the drama just wrapped filming last week right before the last episode aired. Lee Jin Wook’s current K-drama Three Musketeers is still airing once a week on tvN and is reportedly a three season project. That hardly leaves the couple time to just spend with each other so sadly the break up is likely nothing more salacious than not spending enough time together. Now fans of Gong Hyo Jin can go back to shipping her with her numerous costars, a phenomenon that intrigues me since I can’t for the life of me ever see her falling for a leading man on set through acting as a couple in love. That’s totally not her “style” as to borrow a phrase from her Hae Soo in IOIL. With another couple I like biting the dust, hopefully happy news will come out soon to balance out the drama verse dating karma.

  1. I just finished watch Its Okay, That Love drama and I was thinking about this couple. What a shame, they really look good together. I sincerely hope Gong Hyo-jin finds a good partner and marry well. She is so talented as a actress.

  2. Awww. When news broke out about these two I was extremely happy but also thought it was very random. Sad to see them split though. I hear the So Jisub – Gong Hyojin shippers throwing a party right now. Lol.

  3. I did ship her with SJS, but she looked so adorable with LJW. When news broke out that the two are dating, I felt super hyped, but felt sorry for myself since I was a SoGong shipper ever since I watched Master’s Sun and fell in love with them (and with SJS alone..). But LJW is one of my favorite actors since Nine, and I loooved it that he was dating GHJ. But now……. Guess this is what dilemma feels like.

  4. a tug of sad-happy news for me. but we will not know the real reason behind the split. i wish them both peace & happiness but most especially i wish love for my bias GHJ!

  5. I expected this would happen so I am not surprised. Anyway, still disappointed this didn’t last long. I wish they had only attended one public event together just to see them glammed up as a couple.

  6. Ouch. So sad. I wasn’t on board with this couple initially, but I grew to like them eventually. This news saddens my heart. Hopefully, we can have dome good news to balance out these news of celebrity breakups and scandals lately.

  7. SoGong has just resurrected in my heart hahaha.

Shame these two couldn’t make it work though because they’re beautiful together. I wish them both luck!

  8. This makes me sad. They were currently my favorite couple. I like both individually so the news of them being together excited me. Oh wellz, best of luck in love to the both of them.

  9. oh, well, it would have been great if they could make it work but best of luck to both of them.

Gong Hyo Jin is totally shippable with all her male leads when she’s single – some people are even trying to link her to Jo In Sung! (fat chance. He’s dating her best friend). And your assertion that it’s not her style to go for costars is wrong actually, koala – she began dating Ryu Seung Bum after they worked together in Wonderful Days.
