K-Actors and Actresses Glam Up the 2014 MAMA Red Carpet

I was aware that the popular Hallyu K-pop awards show MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) took place in cosmopolitan glittering Hong Kong last week. It came to my attention when the ratings took a big noticeable dip for Pinocchio, meaning the viewers for that drama skew young and that night the group tuned into the 2014 MAMA’s instead. Nothing wrong with that but I myself didn’t get around to scouring the net to see who attended until the weekend and color me hella surprised to just how many Korean actors and actresses attended the event.

I did know Yoon Eun Hye was going since she got snapped at the airport looking sartorially bipolar unsure whether she was going to the mountains (giant parka on top) or the beach (short shorts on bottom). She did the same with her awards dress but in general the ladies really did light up the red carpet with IU pulling off ladylike fun, Kang Sora making a thirty buck H&M dress look like a million bucks on her body, Choi Ji Woo showing how its done with a classy older actress glam, and newbie Kyung Soo Jin going for pretty but overdoing the pink. Check out the surprisingly jam-packed K-acting contingent red carpet pics below.

K-Actors and Actresses Glam Up the 2014 MAMA Red Carpet — 35 Comments

  1. If i didnt know it was MAMA I Would have thought it was a drama awards night with all the actor an actresses in attendance. But they all look really gorgeous!

  2. Kang Sora rocks the $30 dress and it looks like million dollar baby! daebak!

ps : the pic of choi ji won and her boys, omooo.. i like it!

  3. Today I learned a new fashion term “sartorially bipolar” hahahahaha

I’m at lost for words Mz. Koala…. you’re simple fantastic

      • I’m disagreeing with you again…. I like the dress….. gives a bit of edge to the red carpet… and completely contradicts her fuchsia dress that she wore on stage….

    • I’m guessing, yeah. ‘Dewy’ was all the rage when I visited Asia. I agree that it looks oily and nasty. *head shake*

This current unholy trinity of oily + too much aegyo sal + gradient lips = UGH EW

  4. Not my favorite red carpet event, fashion wise.

The ladies’ dresses are either boring and shapeless (the matronly satin gowns) or victorian slutty (old-school lace that looks cheap and seedy).

Plus everyone looks either depressed, oily, or both.

  5. Park bo young- small body frame but face looks old. Makeup mishap maybe.
Kang sora- Great body(Thumbs up for whatever Powerful workout that she did) and she looks young with bangs than no bangs.
    Oh yeon seo- looking lovely.
Song ji hyo- looking young and lovely.
Han groo- lovely but the dress looks unfitting.
Yoo in na- looking Great. Atleast she is wearing a right fit.
Yoon eun hye- I actually didn’t know it was Yeh when i saw the first pic. She looks old.
Kyung soo jin- It would have been nice if she accessorized a little( a clutch or a sparkly bracelet) which would have helped to tone down the overdose of pink, imo.

But in general, i always find korean red carpets to be boring. Many usually wear unfitting clothes. Majority either wear black or white. At-least these ladies are trying some colors which is refreshing.

  6. As for the men, Only song seung heon is looking dapper. Though its a blue suit, can’t help but like kim ji hoon’s. Ahn jae hyun, being a model one would have thought his fashion sense to be better. Guess not.. But he is certainly giving off the vampire vibe. Lee dong wook though lol. He is wearing more lipstick than the ladies.

  7. Han Groo and Yeo Woo Jin look cute together!

Wish Song Jae Rim and Mrs. Song/ Kim Eun Soo was present. They would show how fashion could be passion..

    *sigh*

  8. Oh…Kuala Lumpur!!
“Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain BUT it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving.”
Character, self-control, understanding and forgiveness is what Yoon Eun Hye has that…..
