Pretty Rom-com Joint Korean-Chinese Movie Honey Enemy Wraps Filming in Jeju

There will be no shortage of Chinese-Korean joint productions going forward with plenty already in the pipeline and could be released as soon as early 2015. I approach each with caution but some definitely look more promising than others. Such is the upcoming Honey Enemy (情敵蜜月 Love Rival’s Honeymoon) starring Kwon Sang Woo, Zhang Yu Qi, Wallace Huo, and Shi Yu Wen. The premise is the type of adult complicated hilarity romance that I’m quite fond of, especially in short burst movie lengths rather than dragged out as a drama.

Kwon Sang Woo and Zhang Yu Qi are the boss of a online dating site and the site’s top matchmaker, respectively. Boss and subordinate have to pretend to be a couple and crash the destination wedding at a Jeju hotel of the engaged couple played by Wallace Huo and Shi Yu Wen. The bride-to-be has a rich daddy that Kwon Sang Woo is seeking as a last ditch investor while Zhang Yu Qi wants another go at her ex-boyfriend Wallace before he marries the wrong rich girl. I love that all the leads are established mature actors so hopefully the movie will have fun with the mixed up couple hijinks. It already looks so pretty with the first stills from Jeju.
