Yoon Kyun Sang Joins Ha Ji Won in 7000 Days and Releases Oddly Riveting BNT Pictorial

I can’t figure out if the latest BNT pictorial is good exposure or bad for Yoon Kyun Sang‘s kickstarted acting career. Thanks to a star-making turn in a critical supporting role in Pinocchio playing Lee Jong Seok‘s hyung, Yoon Kyun Sang is garnering all the right attention for his acting ability and potential. Even better is that he’s already done with his military service, which will make the next few years interesting with so many late twenty-something leading men headed off soon to their own appointment with civic duty, leaving opportunity to develop new male leads.

And right on cue, K-news just reported that Yoon Kyun Sang has joined the cast of upcoming SBS weekend drama The Time I Loved You, 7000 Days. Starring Ha Ji Won and Lee Jin Wook, the drama is a remake of TW-drama In Time With You about the decades long friendship turned romance between the two leads. Yoon Kyun Sang’s character is described as a chaebol heir who hides his identity, and I’m not sure if he’s playing the Sunny Wang‘s second male lead role or a different supporting male character. It doesn’t even matter if he’s doing a glorified cameo (which he’s not), knowing he’s in this drama just ups the must watch factor for me multiple fold.

I love Yoon Kyun Sang but the BNT pictorial is basically the hottest mess ever with the weird concepts made even worse by being totally unsuitable for his aura. I can see this pictorial working with a waifish Ahn Jae Hyun, put masculine Yoon Kyun Sang in a crown, or a little boy pant suit, or copious amounts of eyeliner, every single concept in this shoot showcases him all wrong and that’s a travesty. At least he gamely tries to sell it, sometimes models can tell how absurd a look is and I can see the wink-wink “can you believe this” look in the eyes, here Yoon Kyun Sang brings the same all-in effort that further underlies his appeal. This man is all heart at doing his job.

  1. Great that he has been cast in another anticipated drama.

By the way, sorry for interrupting this post but park bo young and Jo Jung suk have been confirmed for new show together.

  2. I don’t think the pictorial is bad, the pix with blue bg is certainly not my favorite though.. Happy to see him back on my screen

    • I am not sure what they were after. I don’t really see any reason for the props, any theme, it’s just a mish-mash of poorly staged clothing. The short pants? The crown? And they sorely needed Kim Woo Bin’s eyebrow wrangler.

I think they are going to have to change the part, though – I do not get any of Sunny Wang’s slightly creepy vibe from this guy. I still remember the shot of Sunny Wang’s heavily tattooed back as he is sliding up to the girl on a couch – he looked like a snake all set to devour her.

  3. This drama director is the same with pinocchio. It seems this director likes him a lot. Is he second lead?
He is really lucky to get a role in this high profile drama.

  4. HJW+YKS+Pinocchio director, this drama just became my most anticipated drama of the year.i hope he shines in the role given to him.

  5. GAH he is so dreamy in the photoshoot <3

Great for him to be casted in such a high profile drama! Has Lee Jin Wook confirmed to take Li Da Ren's character? I don't see him taking up Sunny Wang's character but we'll see how things go. 😀

  6. Just when I thought this drama couldn’t get better because of Ha Ji-won and Lee Jin-wook, he’s casted! Now, I’m really really looking forward to this! I really liked him as Lee Jong-suk’s hyung in Pinocchio. Can’t wait!!

    • You totally took the words from my mouth! Also, can he be first male lead in something soon? I don’t want to see him hurt because his pain feels real and it hurts me. (Shouldn’t he be happy? He’s been through so much already!)

  7. Hyuuuuung! He’s back and ready to make us cry again…..

I’m glad to see he’s apparently a favourite with the Pinocchio PD, seeing him get promotion to what sounds like second lead role makes me hopeful that his career will take off slowly but surely. If he sticks around while the other ’86 and ’87ers are gone, he could do really well.

  8. Hyung really is a surprise character in Pinocchio…I think the PD also surprised with the popularity of hyung lol…

  9. I was going to watch it anyway but it’s a great news. love him and he has great potential! fighting hyung!

  10. Almost passed on this news, due to the title. They really should just keep it as In Time With You, as 7000 days, just makes it seems like the relationship will be over in 7000 days. Not sure if I want to watch this yet. I’ll probably wait for the reviews before I taint my memory of my fav drama. The casting so far is good, but I feel like the writer is the one who’ll break or make this drama, and she does not really inspire any confidence…
