First Poster and Stills of Answer Me 1988 Perfectly Capture the Sartorial Style and Nostalgia of that Decade

Good or bad, at least the production of upcoming tvN drama Answer Me 1988 visually nail the late 1980’s sartorial style (or lack thereof). Those looking for a drama that delivers eye candy best be forewarned to the proliferation of bobs, high waisted pants, and members only type track jackets. I adore charming throwback stories, but sadly have to keep my expectations low with this one thanks to the casting of abysmally bad actress Hyeri as the female lead.

If this is the drama where she suddenly knows how to act then I’ll be thrilled since my desire for a good drama vastly outweighs any “I told you so” sentiments should Hyeri end up sucking as usual. She is selling the 80’s girl look without any airs i.e. trying to be pretty. Male leads Park Bo Gum and Go Kyung Pyo still look adorable even all dorkified, and with their acting chops it’ll be fun to watch them embody the 80’s earnestness. So far AM1988 looks just fine and that’s definitely a good place to start changing my mind.

  1. I can’t decide what looks uglier: clothes or haircuts. Although people in the 80’s would probably say the same about modern fashion.

    • +1 lol

I don’t want him with hyeri and if he’s the second lead he won’t get her anyway so it’s better he’ll likes boys haha

      • Thank god I ain’t the only one who doesn’t want a love line there lol

Bogummy pls …. Be Hoya 2.0 *laughs* jk

I just think he is more cute in bromance, he delivers more.

  2. Wow 80s fashion are atrocious. hahaha. Although this drama won’t be something which I could relate to much since I’m a 90s baby, I’m still looking forward to it nonetheless.
