K-pop Group Six Bomb Finally Gets Media Buzz Thanks to Aesthetically Awful Pink Bodysuits

I don’t want to pile on what is happening currently to this unfortunate K-pop girl’s group, but then again maybe this is really a crafty self-aware case of viral programming and my writing about them is exactly what they would want. As the news cycle confirms over and over again, there is basically no such thing as bad publicity, only no publicity is bad. There is a girl’s group called Six Bomb, which I have never heard of until last week, and likely most people haven’t ever heard of either. They are generating media and fan attention thanks to donning a totally WTF performance outfit that is visually awful to an unprecedented degree.

The four ladies of Six Bomb wear Pepto Bismol pink colored body suits to perform their new single, the melodically dreadful “Wait Ten Years Baby”. They have been likened to hairless pink chickens, or I flashback to the first season of American Horror Story and the latex dude. The accompanying video is also hilariously bad, with awkward choreography and the production values of a low rent high school home video. I laughed so hard sitting through the entire video, and then realized the powers that be who orchestrated this rollout might just be a diabolical genius – instead of the divergent races pitting the sexiest or  the most school girl with the other girl groups, Six Bomb just goes for broke on low budget and aesthetically awkward.

  1. LOL, the song is good fun. I do like tend to like those gimmicky dance numbers. As for the pink body suit; well they needed to have them as close to naked as possible without them actually being naked. All those crotch and arse shots… <.<

    • I know right!
I sometimes feel sorry for idols, they’re so young and heavily sexualised…
I wonder is that really what their parents signed them up for?
Its quite disgusting really…and then i thin we as consumers when we click n this we make it worst.

  2. They actually have talent in singing if you don’t pay attention to the terrible outfits ,poor girls ,sad they have to go to this to get attention

  3. They look like they are doing odd low-impact aerobics or something. And why are they called Six Bomb when there are only four of them? Oh well, I laughed at least.

  4. LOL. Can’t you see they are the female version of PSY?Kpop has many tacky artists like such. It actually sells. 4 pink sausages stand out among typical and predictable cutesy or sexy concepts.

    • I was wondering if that was PSY’s voice in the background. When I watched the dancing and gyrating in the pink outfits, all I saw was underwear riding up. Not a pretty sight.

  5. The kpop market is so hyper-saturated so it makes sense groups are made to resort to gimmicks. I’m honestly very curious what sort of state the industry will be in 5 to 10 years.

  6. Um yeah. So the 2nd thing that came to mind after WTF was, how did they edit out or otherwise prevent a massive display of camel toe?

  7. I don’t know why but the first thing that came to mind when I saw them was the manga skip beat.
On the other hand the song is not half bad everything else just make me want to face palm myself.

  8. Any other western country producing something as tacky as this would be classed as sexist or racist but it’s perfectly okay for SK to produce these. Even their name sounds like sexbomb. Haha.

  9. What a thoroughly sexist blog post. With self-hating comments to boot from female readers who are only too happy to accept the silly, dreadful, sexed-up images of Korea’s thousands of male flowerboy pop groups.

  10. those slut. should just do porn if they going to dress like this. thought korean is old fashion. were dressing like this is forbidden.

these girl must get lot of hate in korean for wearing these cloth for people to see.
