K-Bu Bu Jin Xin with Lee Jun Ki and IU Confirms Broadcast Date of Monday August 29th on SBS

Airing time is now confirmed for the much anticipated K-drama adaptation of well known Chinese time-traveling romance novel Bu Bu Jing Xin ((Startling with Each Step). It’s been four years since C-dramas adapted BBJX into the drama version with the English title of Scarlet Heart and starring Nicky Wu and now real life wife Liu Shi Shi. The K-version called Bobogyungsim: Ryeo (Bu Bu Jing Xin: Ryeo – short for Goryeo) stars Lee Jun Ki, IU, and Kang Ha Neul as the main leads, with the other princes being Hong Jong Hyun, Ji Soo, Nam Joo Hyuk, and Baekhyun. The drama has been filming since February and getting a confirmed airing date means it’s likely wrapping up production and can submit the finished product to Chinese authorities for approval to live-air in China. K-BBJX will broadcast on SBS on August 29th, taking the Mon-Tues time slot after Doctors with Park Shin Hye and Kim Rae Won.

With K-BBJX inked as an early fall show for SBS, it will go up against the midway point of teen sageuk Moonlight Drawn by Clouds airing on KBS and the tail run of Monster on MBC and then taking on plane crash drama Gaia which follows Monster.

  1. I’m curious on the time traveling part though, I thought the chinese authorities don’t allow time traveling dramas to be aired any longer? Even Scarlet Heart had to tweak its ending so that they can be aired. So how does the K-version plan on getting around that? Don’t tell me they will be doing the same kind of ending…

      • Is there really a ban on time travel on right now? Chinese TV is currently airing a time travel drama called “Magical Space Time”, which is quite similar to “Nine Nine Times Travel”. Quite an interesting drama so far.

      • There used to be suicides from obsessed fans that had hoped their deaths would be a new beginning and pretty much…time travel away to their fantasies. Or maybe alternate realities like those SI fanfictions

  2. Moonlight was moved to the Wed-Thurs slot, so they won’t be direct competitors, correct? Or was there another schedule change over at KBS?

  3. I hope this is good! I love the whole idea with the brothers and the time travel. I WANT to watch a k-drama, I do!

  4. Definitely will watch the K adaptation, just to see if LJK can make it up for his Chinese counterpart that I don’t like.

    • I have a feeling 14th won’t live up to his counterpart. I guess it might be cuz they seem to have changed his character somewhat. Looks more like a punk now. Hoping 13th would still the the reliable friend just like the the C-version. He was just such a great dude there
