The likely first confirmed casualty of the Chinese government unofficial crackdown on K-ent in terms of drama and star appearances is Yoo In Na. Except I don’t think she’s terribly hard pressed considering where she landed afterwards. Yoo In Na has reportedly been dropped as the female lead in the upcoming Chinese-Korean joint production C-drama Shuttle Love Millennium, the sorta sequel to Love Through the Millennium with Zheng Shuang and Jin Bo Ran, which was itself the C-version of time-traveling K-drama Queen In Hyun’s Man.
Yoo In Na’s casting as the C-version sequel felt like a cute deja vu and a nice way for her to branch into C-ent, except for the timing. Despite shooting the drama promo poster (above), news broke this week that Yoo In Na’s role will now be played by TW-actress Puff Guo. On the flip side, Yoo In Na is heading into production for the Kim Eun Sook fantasy drama Goblin with Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, and Kim Go Eun. I think she’ll be just fine, other than a bit of bruised ego over sovereign sparring she has no control over.
Shuttle Love Millennium will now star Wei Da Xun, Wen Yong Shan, Li Zhi Feng, and Puff Guo. Time to reshoot the cast posters stat, which is has time to do as the drama now may be pushed back from its 2016 airing into early 2017.
