Missing 9 Finalizes Lead Casting of Jung Kyung Ho and Baek Jin Hee and Readies for Filming

The development route for upcoming MBC drama Missing 9 is convoluted indeed, starting from it’s many title changes. It went from Gaia (mother earth) to Picnic (wut in tha wut?) to settling finally on Missing 9. Given that it’s a stranded on an island drama I don’t know why they didn’t just start off with Missing 9, sleek and descriptive. The leads also cycled through Kang Ha Neul, Yuri from SNSD, Girl’s Day‘s Hyeri, and Jung Yumi, an disparate collection in acting range to be sure, to landing safely now with the confirmed casting of Jung Kyung Ho and Baek Jin Hee. She’s coming off headlining weekender My Daughter Geum Sa Wol while he most recently did two romance themed dramas with Falling for Innocence and Once More Happy Ending, their is a promising onscreen coupling for me with the only aside that collectively these two waifs probably weigh the same as an average person soaking wet.

Joining Jung Kyung Ho and Baek Jin Hee on the deserted island is Chanyeol from EXO, Lee Sun Bin, and Choi Tae Joon, and the screenwriter was changed from Song Ji Na to Han Jung Hoon of 38 Task Force, Bad Guys, and Vampire Prosecutor series. The drama is slated to air in early 2017 on MBC.

Missing 9 Finalizes Lead Casting of Jung Kyung Ho and Baek Jin Hee and Readies for Filming — 8 Comments

  1. I laughed at their light weight. But the actors are the main leads plus some of the others are good. I can’t stand ignorant trolls on this site who persistently make sweeping statements. And the writer is not bad. This is starting out way better than some other dramas with bad actors ( idols or not ) being there.

  2. Why Jung Kyung Ho, WHY?!?!! He should be working in much higher caliber dramas, the guy is a good actor! I guess he’s not getting many scripts sent his way these days…If I were him, I’d stick to korean movies, he’s got the acting chops for them.

  3. Wish JKH could save this mess. From horrible titles and desperate choices of actress (yuri, please, do sing or do some sport, then dramaland would be at peace). And please JKH, do come back to cable, where you’ll shine at most.

  4. Well I was bummed when the first writer dropped. However the new writer is solid. I tend to think if the writing is solid, I can live with acting and production issues.

I have liked the actor in many dramas including Falling for Innocence but couldn’t make it through OMHE.

  5. The new writer’s pretty solid so I’m not too worried about that. I would have preferred Jung Yumi as the female lead though but Baek Jin Hee’s good, too.
