Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung Attend Moonlight Drawn by Clouds Drama Wrap Fan Meeting

The supreme cuteness that is sageuk drama Moonlight Drawn by Clouds reversed the ratings bottom trend for KBS on Mon-Tues and delivered a much needed buzz for the viewing audience. I like dramas to get viewers hooked and excited, the more the merrier for the industry that’s seen overall ratings pie shrinkage in successive years. The leads of Moonlight held a fan meeting at Gyeongbokgung while dressed in character, meaning more Park Bo Gum as the Crown Prince, the girl version of Kim Yoo Jung‘s female lead, mane of glory in all black Kwak Dong Yeon, and Jinyoung resurrected to show off a black and pink combo that looks surprisingly manly on him. There was a bit of negative news to hit the production as KBS was warned by the Korea Communications Standards Commission for the drama containing inappropriate scenes of underage Kim Yoo Jung kissing and in a bathing scene. It was just a warning and not even a fine, plus the drama has finished airing, so this feels like much ado about nothing.

  1. Been watching kdrama for over a decade & sageuk is my least favorite. I just gave this drama a chance since Park Bo gum is in it. Oh boy what a treat! He wore the hanbok w/ so much poise & he look so regal!!! ? He set the bar high for a prince. I’ve never fast forward any scene w/ this show. He has a way of making you cry w/ him…One of the few actors that can really act w/o yelling. Heck he doesn’t even need to talk. I should keep my expectation low for his next project since he wants to do a highschool drama. Don’t stay away from drama too long.

    • “He set the bar high for a prince”

are you kidding me ? there have been better kdrama actors who have been princes’ so chill.

I am fan of Park Bo Gum but chill with the overrating of his performance, he is not the greatest kdrama actor to ever walk the earth.

      • I agree with u
Park is gd in the first few episodes but some scenes are not as good. Liked he himself has said he still need improvement.
He’s definitely not the best CP out there. If he is then the bar is pretty low

Kim yoo jung on the other hand has great acting skills. From some of the scene that’s seem unedited n filmed her before, during Weeping …. I think she portrayed a very gd change of mood

    • Hmmmm he’s a good actor no doubt. But to say that he sets the bar high for a prince is quite pushing it. I dunno whether its the writing or something else but the repeatition in this drama certainly didnt sit well for me. I can understand that people enjoy their tandem but story-wise its not that fantastic as some exxagerated it to be. I for example loveee kim yoo jung but her candy-in-distress character that need to be saved every now and then was a frustrating watch. And the prince when it comes to Ra On he’s all savvy but as a prince, the way he’s trying to manage the palace affair, is not too smart and charismatic as how people make it out to be. Well I suggest u watch Moon Embraces the Sun (i know its cliche’) and watch Yeo Jin Goo potrayal of a crown prince and then you can re-judge. He’s witty, smart thinker and a charismatic crown prince. But beware, his potrayal is good but Kim Soo Hyun counterpart as his adult self…well there’s much left to be desired. So i suggest you treat the adult one as having amnesia forgotting how to behave as his smart teenage self…

      • haters, at the least write your comments separately insteading replying to someone’s gush as a place to air your grievances.

@cinderella you’re love for bo gum and new appreciation of sageuk is cute. fighting!

    • @Clinton Carter & @Hannasj

Chill guys. It’s called an opinion and having a preference. I feel sorry for the OP so I just have to say something. If OP thinks that Park Bogum’s portrayal was the best then so be it. There’s no right or wrong with having an opinion. Sheesh.

      That aside.

While yes, there may be better actors out there and you prefer another actor but we shouldn’t discredit Park Bogum’s portrayal and acting talent. He’s a great actor and he was a great Crown Prince.

    • I strongly agree.. I am an great fan of Koreanovelas from the Philippines.. I
Love the portrayal of both Park Bo Gum and kIm Young Joo.. great young actors.. They won as best actor and actress respectively and this is a seal of approval from
The KBS drama awards committee. Aja!?❤️?

  2. Kim Yoo Jung is so ethereally beautiful. I don’t enjoy MDBC though, but am still happy that both KYJ and PBG found success with their first foray as lead characters. Funny how things turned out to be when back then, I was hoping for KYJ to play Haesoo in Scarlet Heart.

  3. The four of them looked lovely. I wish Chae Soo Bin would have been there but she had another schedule. Really loved her character Ha Yeon as well as her portrayal of it.

  4. After this past year of k-dramas, I think my ultimate fantasy is to be in that Domino’s pizza commercial with Park Bo Gum and Song Joong Ki.

PBG + SJK + pizza = happy me.

  5. After this past year of K-dramas, I’m pretty sure one of my biggest dreams is to be in that Domino’s pizza commercial with Park Bo Gum and Song Joong Ki.

PBG plus SJK plus pizza equals super happy me.

  6. Park Bo Gum was really good and talented. And Kim Yoo Jung seems mature beyond her years. Very professional! Jin Young blew me away and he has more charisma in Joseon outfits I fell. His ending scene could use a little work but I look forward to seeing his future projects! Kwak Dong Yeon looks older than he really is too.

    • Jin young is pretty gd. His fighting scenes etc r gd too. I liked his way of portraying the character
He’s v natural in his acting

  7. I’m mystified by how Mirror of the Witch was shunned earlier this year for an underage actress with an older male lead though there was no indecent scenes and yet MDBC, which did exactly the same except with more “indecency”, was loved.
The combined popularity of Park Bo Um and Kim Yoo Jung is really no joke.

  8. I liked Yoo Ah In’s potrayal of Crown Prince Yi Soon in Jang Ok Jung. But i like Park Bo Gum in MDBC more. His facial expressions are so good, you’d understand what his feelings are even without words. Of course his good looks also accounts for his popularity but without his excellent acting, the drama would be quite meaningless. I am now a saeguk fan for life…waiting for his next saeguk..How long more ti wait?

  9. I dont understand what the fuck is the big deal about the ‘indecency’ bit the KCSC is bent on warning KBS. It is a movie, it is a craft, it is an art,so enjoy it. They had to show some skin to make it look realistic and not follow the stereotypical and hypocritical all covered-up customs. Yes, she is young but first and foremost, she is an actor. A veteran actor of 13 years in fact and she knew what she was upto and chose to portray it. All these unecessary biases of conventional thinking should stop and respect the actor, actress and the director’s prerogatives for a change. Kudos to all the cast for their phenomenal effort and the equally deserving recognition! Fighting!!!

  10. In fairness to Park Bogum, he was able to give justice on the character that he portrayed as a crown prince, and though many would claim that it’s not that superb for me it is plus his charisma and charm is very cool.
