Preview for Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms Increase Excitement with Scheduled January 30th Premiere

Promotions are ramping up for the C-drama premiere of fantasy romance Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Mile Peach Blossoms, airing on January 30th with a head start on the movie version which doesn’t hit the theaters until summer of 2017. Starring Yang Mi and Mark Chao, the drama is a visual feast of contrasting colors of white, black, and red attired characters, with the backdrop in soft palates of peach like the titular peach blossoms.

The story is adapted from a popular novel by writer Tang Qi Gong Zi (pen name Tang Dynasty’s 7th Gentleman), chronicling the three incarnation sweet and tortured romance of the leads. Yang Mi is a fixture in C-dramas but this is the first time Mark has cone a television project since his debut breakout in TW-drama Black & White so this is a definite must check out for me. Doesn’t hurt that the preview looks alluring and the official BTS discussions center on the director explaining the effort taken to make the drama feel less fantasy and more grounded in reality.

    • There is another 5 minute long preview that shows how they shoot the action against a room of green screens. It looks awesome, I can’t wait to see this drama! I also want to see the movie as soon as possible!

  1. i can recognize most of these scenes, looks like they will stick closely to the book which is awesome! i get so annoyed with dramas sway too far from the book. so excited for this one and the general and i!

    • I read about the issue too. I have not read the book that this story was allegedly plagiarozed from. However, the points that some pointed out were similarities. Such as the same genre, using the word peach blossoms etc…that is not what I would consider plagiarism.
Regardless, the other author is not suing tong qi, and even wrote that tong qi story setup was different than her book.
The other author is not suing tong qi, and the drama is airing regardless. Why not watch the drama?
