MBC Continues to Miss as Radiant Office Debuts with 3.8% Ratings in Wed-Thurs Time Slot

The debut was less than shiny for new MBC Wed-Thurs arrival Radiant Office, and in fact was even lower than its low rated predecessor Missing 9. Radiant Office premiered this Wednesday with an abysmally low 3.8% AGB nationwide ratings, and Missing 9 did hit those same low numbers but went out the week before with 4.2% in the final episode. Looks like just being a quirky office drama isn’t enough to lure viewers away from time slot leader Chief Kim, which hit 18.4% ratings for this week’s episode 15, while perennial second place holder Saimdang: Light’s Diary held at 10.4%. It’s hard to claw up from 3.8% which indicates early interest isn’t even there, but then again if it’s got a compelling story then who knows if Radiant Office will incrementally inch up to respectable ratings during the course of its run.

  1. Ratings is really hard to predict. There is ‘magic’ behind that. No matter how powerful the stars, writers, PDs, but when comes to ratings sometimes the results are unexpected. Ratings is similar with soccer match. We know they’re great team but ‘luck’ is more important XD.

  2. i was thking it wont be running out the gate with great ratings on the pilot episode especially since Manager Kim and Saimdang has gotten very far ahead in their plotlines. But i thought a 5% was realistic. Sorry to see it at 3.8% and hope the production team wont be too distraught by it- focus on quality of the content and it may slowly rise and/or gain postive reviews

  3. The first episode was funny but maybe the story was a little bit too slow. But after Missing 9, it’s not easy to take the spot.

  4. SLD drop the ball by doing shit thing from the beginning. drama could have rating in the 16. pd decide to do old young romance that why most view left for CK.

  5. I think it was not a good idea for MBC to come out w/another office type drama when Chief Kim is still running and getting high ratings. People might be more tempted to switch if they had something different to watch.
