Fight My Way with Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won Showcases Cute Friendship Turned Romance

For all the leading lady search headaches, what I’m seeing from the promos for upcoming KBS drama Fight My Way (Third Way My Way) has all the earmarks of being a sweet and sassy watch with two engaging lead characters. Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won are the best friends for a long time mutual underdogs with big dreams, the sort of success tale that Korean culture subscribes to and often tackles in K-dramas.ย Recent such dramas were Chief Kim ropeing in audiences while Radiant Office didn’t get the eyeballs or interest of viewers. Fight My Way seems to toggle equally rom-com with the central friendship turned romance of the leads as important as their quest to achieve their dreams, his being a UFC fighter and hers being a broadcast announcer. Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won are super adorable in the poster and teaser so I’ve got a good feeling about this one.

    • Hopefully not like the k version of in time with you, which was the time i loved you, and a total disappointment ๐Ÿ™ im hoping it’s more similar to the kind of relationship the leads had in reply 1997 and 1994 and avoids going into melodrama territory or dragging out the progression from friends to lovers

  1. I had no idea they picked her as the female lead because I checked myself out after the initial rounds of whoz-it-gonna-be but now I’m so interested. She did a great job in DOTS and I’m looking forward to her new project. The leads look like they have awesome chemistry and most importantly in a sucker for old friends turned lovers romance. ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Sameee, i get immediately roped into checking it out with just for the “best friends/childhood friends/close friends finding love with each other” trope hahaha. When done well, it becomes my favourite dramas ever (reply series, in time with you) but when the transition from friendship to romance is jarring or that elusive feeling of intimacy between the characters is not present, then it’s really a letdown (the time i loved you, bubblegum etc.).
