Ha Ji Won and Kang Min Hyuk Start Filming MBC Drama Hospital Ship

Filming has commenced for MBC medical drama Hospital Ship, diving into the genre that recently got high ratings for SBS with both Doctors and Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim. Filming kicked off at the port city of Goeje with the Deputy Mayor of the city present for the prayer ceremony along with the cast and crew. Starring Ha Ji Won, Kang Min Hyuk, Wang Ji Won and Lee Seo Won, the drama centers around a medical staff on a traveling ship proving aid to residents on outlying islands. It’s not the freshest of ideas but does get doctors out of the hospital setting and adds location shoots for the visual eye candy. The drama premieres in late August after culturally insensitive The Man Who Dies to Live on Wed-Thurs, and somehow I think MBC can’t wait for this drama to arrive fast enough.

  1. I’m happy to see Ha Ji Won in a drama because I don’t really like her movies. I like the pitch of the story, I hoped this doctor’s drama would not be about the administrators of the hospital against the poor and sick people…

    • That is exactly what came to mind. Is this a remake of that Japanese drama? That was an interesting drama, so looking forward to seeing a Korean version and all the ocean scenery.

      • Honestly, I don’t really remember the story. In most of the scene, the background is such a huge distraction! The scenery is so beautifully shoot to the point that I don’t care that Matsuda Shota is there (which is surprising since I always think that he’s hot!)
