Son Ye Jin and Jung Hae In Enjoying the Title Moment in Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food

PD Ahn Pan Seok is such a master of setting the mood, every drama of his that I’ve watched has conveyed the central story line via a distinct mood so clearly. His last drama Heard it Through the Grapevine was gothic with a black humor infusion yet his upcoming work Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food is bright and airy with nary a hint of oppressive darkness. It works even better casting the beaming Son Ye Jin and Jung Hae In, who in While You Were Dreaming reminded me of his onscreen corgi in human form in cuteness. The latest drama stills from Pretty Noona reveal all the elements of the drama title – the pretty noona in question who is buying the male lead food. Both seem quite happy with the meal and love certainly can bloom in the face of good food and even better company.

  1. Seriously, I do not know what to expect from this drama. PD Ahn is a reputable and acclaimed director but I have never been a fan of any of his works. But based on the PD and the casts, at least we know this drama is in good hands and not knowing what to expect perhaps is a good thing…may be this will get me throw whatever things I think I know out of the window and just enjoy the story.

  2. I really liked Heard it Through the Grapevine specially the first half and the kids tackling teenage pregnancy, although it did suffer on weak narrative later on but it can blamed on the writing. I’m looking forward to this series because I haven’t enjoyed much Kdrama lately.

  3. After an awful year 2017 dramawise I’m soooo looking forward to this (hopefully) gem. PD Ahn made the best Kdrama ever, Secret Love Affair, and didn’t disappoint with Heard it through the Grapevine, although I must admit esp. the latter is not to everyone’s taste (which quite likely makes his works so good). One needs a brain, patience and a sharp eye to really get what he is doing on screen.
Did I say I’m looking forward to this show?!

  4. Heard It Through the Grapevine was the best drama of 2015 imo, it had a darkness and humour that really was unique among kdramas. And the cast was incredible, from Yoo Joon Sang and Yoo Hye Jung down to the then-rookie Gong Seung Yeon. I hope Pretty Noona is as good too.

  5. It’s the drama I’m waiting for the most. Now there is no drama that I’m fond of… So I hope I won’t be disappointed !
