Jang Hyuk, Junho, and Jung Ryeo Won Considering SBS Drama Greasy Melo

I am sooooo excited about this drama, despite it awful beyond belief title. Upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama Greasy Melo (or Oily Melo) is courting Jang Hyuk, Junho, and Jung Ryeo Won for the drama about a small restaurant in a neighborhood and the people who work there and live around the place. Jang Hyuk is being courted for the role of a tough gangster who just got out of prison while Junho plays a top Chinese restaurant chef who ends up cooking at the neighborhood joint. What further excites me is that the drama is penned by the screenwriter of Miss Korea (I love this drama!) and Pasta. I hope all three rumored leads accept, this drama will be so worth watching!

Jang Hyuk, Junho, and Jung Ryeo Won Considering SBS Drama Greasy Melo — 17 Comments

  1. Hahaha… Couldn’t stop laughing at the title. What were they thinking? But I think the word “melo” sometimes means romance in Korean? Jang Hyuk is one hardworking actor; he seems to jump from one drama to the next. I, too, love Miss Korea (sooo underrated) and Pasta.

  2. LOL at that WTF title. But who cares how much the title sucks as long as the writer and cast are great. Super excited for this!

  3. Cast is top-notch!! The title may change… better to call it “Grease”… Korean’s Grease… Junho can dance…. hahaha…

  4. wow!that is one solid cast.Jang Hyuk, the work horse is back. But they have real competition.KBS will have “miracle that we met” in the same time slot. The cast is also powerhouse; Ra Mi Ran, Kim Hyun Joo and Kim Myun Min.Let the veterans battle it out.If MBC cast idol actors again in sageuk or even modern drama in April or May on Monday-Tuesday primetime(22:00).Its gonna flop so hard.

  5. I am so happy that many drama viewers know Junho as an actor first before he is an idol from 2pm. So his name wasn’t shadowed by that ‘idol actor’ title.

  6. Apparently it will premiere in May…….slated Monday-Tuesday so I’m stoked that my favs Jung Ryeo Won, Junho and Jang Hyuk are in consideration. That’s the trifecta right there! Please accept and of course JRW is going to be caught up in a love triangle. I’m getting a headache just thinking about it. As an international fan I am eternally grateful for getting all this great news of up coming dramas from Korea (especially with all my top actors cast) I’m just spoilt for choice! Thank you so much ❤️

  7. These are some of my favorite kdrama actors of the past few years, i’m so happy to read this!! I’m happy to see casts headlined by solid actors becoming the norm for kdramas again.

  8. Am I really the only one who LOVES the name? It’s what drew me to read the article even more than the cast. Wonderfully evocative , it draws a great picture in my mind. I hope they DON’T change it

  9. Great cast! I love Jung Ryeo Won. And I really liked Miss Korea, as well. I loved the tone of that drama and its underdog story.
