First Teasers for KBS Remake of Suits Sets the Bromance Stage for Jang Dong Gun and Park Hyung Sik

The first teaser is out for upcoming KBS Wed-Thurs drama Suits and it’s as sleek and chic as my beloved teaser drama poster above. It’s not a surprise as the PD Kim also directed Healer, Good Doctor, Wild Romance, and the first season of Mystery Queen. He’s got a keen eye for stylish flair and visual contrasts. The drama is a remake of the US legal show about a smart college dropout practicing law and the original show is wrapping up its run so the timing is great for the K-version to do their own twist when the series is still getting traction. The teaser has leads Jang Dong Gun and Park Hyung Sik doing their us-against-the-world buddy walk ending with a fist bump, even if the legal cases aren’t all that original or interesting watching these two bromance is going is be such eye candy.

  1. I loved Healer, but I didn’t start to appreciate the PD until after seeing how different season 1 and season 2 of Mystery Queen are. I loved the look of season 1, but season 2 is off and the entire episode looks like a dream. It has a kind of misty film on the screen for some reason (or is that just my computer?) and slapstick became the norm. That has to be the directors doing right? I am only sticking around because I like the characters.

So I am mostly looking forward to what this director will give us. The actors are the icing. Hopefully the story line is good as well.

    • There is… but the romantic relationships on this show are way too complicated. I’m not sure the romance from the original show would be S. Korea domestic public cup of tea. If I have to make a guess the romance aspect of the show is one of the things that are going to be change.

  2. A little correction. The original Suits is not wrapping up. The next season is already confirmed, even with two cast members leaving the show.

  3. it’s a treat for two kinds of people; those who prefer younger men, toyboys, and to those who prefer older men, daddies…
