Yoo Yeon Seok Delivers Precision Intensity in Character Stills for Mr. Sunshine

I’m totally open to second lead ship in Mr. Sunshine though neither male lead really floats my boat. But I remember having no clue who Kim Woo Bin was before Heirs and then suddenly he was just impossibly riveting and won my attention playing a complicated meanie. That may happen again with Yoo Yeon Seok in Mr. Sunshine as he plays the counterpart to Lee Byung Hun‘s male lead for the affections of leading lady Kim Tae Ri. Yoo Yeon Seok looks commanding in his set of character stills, wearing a Japanese outfit complete with topknot and samurai sword. His character is the son of an illiterate butcher who goes to Japan and becomes a leader in the Black Dragon Society before returning to Joseon, probably to fight for Korean independence as a double agent. Kim Eun Sook is well known for writing comparable second male leads that steal the show in her dramas so this may well be Yoo Yeon Seok’s second breakthrough after Answer Me 1994.
