Dark and Serious Posters and Preview for jTBC Medical Drama Life with Jo Seung Woo and Lee Dong Wook

This year we’ve had police K-drama Live and now comes medical K-drama Life, not to be confused though both are squarely in the two most popular drama genres. I figure Life will be a quality product so I haven’t been following along as much with the filming and promos, and this is a good time to catch up with character stills and a substantive preview being released. Starring Jo Seung Woo, Lee Dong Wook, Won Jin Ah, Moon So Ri, and Yoo Jae Myung, Life looks serious (very serious) and sleek, with plenty of hospital and surgery scenes with death and anxiety looming. The two male leads are coming off successful last dramas, Jo Seung Woo with Secret Forest and Lee Dong Wook in Goblin, and this time they look to be at odds (in medical principle, I guess) while working at the same university hospital. Life comes from the PD of Live Up to Your Name and Dear My Friends, with the script from the writer of Secret Forest who just won Best Script at the 2018 Baeksang Awards. Talk about talent upon talent, excited for this drama coming on July 23rd after Miss Hammurabi.

  1. Omona… there is Yoo Jae-myung ajussi who made me cry during Secret Forest!! I like him… Best villain ever!!

  2. I have faith in PD Hong most of all. He is one of my faves out there and been churning out consistently great dramas that suit my taste palette. But then, I have an aversion towards medical theme drama. I hope I can get through this one.

And why is PD Hong directing a jtbc drama? I thought he is with tvN?

  3. There is talent overload but even with the oversaturation of police and legal korean dramas.I would still choose them over medical korean drama.I think I have only ever finished “Good Doctor” starring Moon Chae Won and Joo Won.I will sit this one out till it finishes airing. If it gets good reviews, I can binge watch it.

  4. Wow.

Just please tell me viki has the license. Because if the drama is good really don’t want VIU or DF subs.

  5. This will jTBC’s drama to compete with Mr.Sunshine right?
I’m excited for this especially when it comes to medical dramas with little or no lovelines at all.Eventhough I might end up watching both dramas, I wonder who ends up more victorious in the end.
