OCN Investigative Horror Drama The Guest Gets Movie Sequel with Same Leads Kim Dong Wook, Kim Jae Wook, and Jung Eun Chae

The trio of priest, cop, and taxi-driving shaman is reuniting for the big screen and I have mixed feelings about it. OCN horror drama The Guest was a riveting watch for me last year and one of my favorites from 2018, and it ended with a cliffhanger on one hand with the big bad and a sorta happy ending for the three emotionally traumatized leads. The drama will get a sequel of sorts with a big screen movie confirmed to go into production later this year for a 2020 release, and starring all three drama leads Kim Dong Wook, Kim Jae Wook, and Jung Eun Chae. My preference would be for a second season and even more suitable with be a 2-hour SP episode like J-doramas do. The drama was a slow burn and best watched in the small screen, with the movie budget I worry they will just throw scarier baddies around and more action when I love the emotional in-and-outs of the three leads and their respective sadder than sad back stories.

  1. And give Jung Eun Chae a love line with Kim Jae Wook. Movie or second season I would have liked a second season as more screen time for the leads. If the Guest has the same intensity, great storyline thrills and scares as The Wailing then it will definitely be a treat to behold and anticipate.

      • Totally agree.. I’m falling love with this drama because of that n also paranormal stories… I’m kind of boring with lovely dovely scene…. And this drama is what I want

  2. Yep you’re right @asta wishful thinking on my part but to stay true to the genre and storyline I hope it’s the same writers that was for the series.

      • The writers have to write the movie script that will be their undoing and loss if they don’t retain the original scriptwriters. I’ll be hip hopping mad if the story gets changed. Can’t wait to see how Park Il Do fares in the movie and that psycho lady politician.

  3. Would really prefer a second season of The Guest. The characters have very deep layers for a 2 hr movie that would take away from the storyline.

  4. WHY OH WHY…. OH WHY….. OH FREAKING WHY ARE K DRAMA’S SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FREAKING GOOOOOOD! They are always 10 times better than anything here in the US. I hope Netflix keeps making Netflix originals and also adding more to their library that they don’t make as well.

  5. This show was definitely one of my favorite ones ever. The story line is so well written. Is there a movie out already or will there be, does anyone know?
