IU and Yeo Jin Gu are Opposites Under the Moonlight in Character Posters for Hotel Del Luna

When I see a full moon shot I get the urge to breakout into Memory from Cats, dating myself of course lol. The upcoming Hotel Del Luna is all about the moon motif from the title to the supernatural beings that run, work at, and inhabit the titular hotel for the ghostly. They can only come out at night so the moon is their source of light rather than the blinding sun. The character posters featuring leads IU and Yeo Jin Gu frames them as polar opposites in direction but the same against the pale moonlight. If they want to sell a ghost girl-human boy romance then I’m all in from the visuals alone. I really like these posters, not terribly creative but delivers the right impact so it works. Plus the drama gets kudos for keeping everything properly lit, I’m tired of adjusting screen contrasts and squinting to make things out in the dark of its predecessor drama.

  1. IU is already scene stealing and drama hasn’t even started! Her outfits are going to be the highlight of the entire drama plus her amazing acting of course.

  2. As a spanish speaker the title is bothering me because is grammatically incorrect, instead of “Hotel del luna” it should have been “Hotel de luna” or “Hotel de la luna”.

    • funny you mention this. In Italian, we say “Hotel Della Luna” which may sound a similar translation. I wonder what language this title is exactly based on? Hmmm….
