Second Week of The Tale of Nokdu Shines with Truth Revealed and Friendship Blossoming Between the Leads

Gosh darn it, I just love KBS Mon-Tues drama The Tale of Nokdu. It continues to live up to the fun and beautiful promos from last month, arriving to inject me with a critically needed dose of cute and sassy with leads Kim So Hyun and Jang Dong Yoon. The ratings remain in the 6% range so this doesn’t appear to be the drama to break free of the weekday prime time ratings slump but as entertainment it brings back all the fun times from years past when young love sageuks delivered all the feels with a more modern twist. Jang Dong Yoon’s Nokdu is hilarious with his overacting as a woman and total manliness when he’s back to being a dude, while Dong Joo is blossoming around him in having a friend to bicker with and also you can totally see her tender budding heart soon to be lost as they spend more time together. This drama is so fun, I hope it keeps staying that way.

  1. I had a feeling I was going to like this drama, but I had no idea I was going to like it this much. Mondays are a drag, but this show made me somewhat look forward to Mondays.

I love how every drama trope we can think of is flip backwards. It’s fun and endearing. I want to follow this cross-dressing duo forever haha

  2. The directing strangely giving all this feeling of old days when I watched Korean drama love story and got hooked after. I think this is my fav Kim Soo Hyun pairing. They are just feels compatible.

  3. I am so excited to watch this one, but am trying to hold off until more episodes have aired!! also, I am already watching Flower Crew and My Country, so I think watching three currently airing dramas (all historical) might be too much…. but it is very hard to hold back….

    🙂

  4. Agree. Very entertaining like Rookie Historian (even though RH is a bit more serious). Have any of you watched RH? 🙂

  5. This is just another instance of where ratings don’t reflect the quality and love people have for the drama. This is an absolutely amazing drama and I love it to bits. Kim So Hyun and Jang Dong Yoon shine both individually and together.

  6. Jang Dong Yoon and Kim So Hyun are the most compatible co-stars I’ve seen in a long time! They just radiate chemistry in every scene! ?

  7. After all theses comments, i’m going to watch it this week end. ” Dance sports girls” is a very good drama, and i like Jang Dong Yoon in ‘a poem a day”, “School 2017”, “Solomon’s perjury”.

  8. I agree. I love this drama much more thsn the others airing now. In fact, it gets me excited waiting for Monday, searching for spoilers, etc. i havent been excited about kdrama for a while until now. I just hope this drama keeps its fun plot and doesnt turn to sobbing competition in 2nd half like in Moonlight DBS. I also love the characters, no stupid misunderstanding so far, straight forward. The chemistry is off the roof, my heart flutters again after such long time. The cast and team, writing, so far so good. Just wish they have better ratings.
