The attrition in K-drama viewers may have led production companies to dig deep into the original well of Hallyu addiction to find something to bring them back. How else to explain upcoming tvN drama Crash Landing on You (or Crash Landed Love) where the female lead parachutes onto the male lead and love ensues, because wasn’t that Successful Story of a Bright Girl and the never aged a day Jang Nara lol. Sorry I just needed to make that connection because the gag was so ridiculous and so is the concept that a South Korean chaebol heiress played by Son Ye Jin would crash land on the North Korean side of the border and fall under the protection of Hyun Bin‘s top military officer and love’s arrow will pierce them both in one fell swoop. The first official still is out connected to some weird fan love giveaway but it’s the real deal and OMG Binnie’s hairstyle is so perfectly North Korean dorky ridiculous.

I don’t think there will ever be another Hallyu drama in the same vein as before. However if there was one it would be a KES drama with very bad writing but iconic one liners.
Is it paragliding or parachuting? I can’t believe the premise that she does one or the other to crash land in North Korea. I’m still trying to get my head around that one.

That’s about the only candy that I see so far… HB in military uniform! But why do I prefer his looks more in CA rather than here. With that hairstyle, clean shaved face, he looks like a young soldier rather, with a worried face on his current problem at hand.

Uh his last drama proved he is much better off with older or same age female leads rather than younger ones. Son ye jin is a great match for him both visually and in acting.

Been patiently waiting since January this year for the drama to land on Netflix. The moment the photos of their supposed dating “scandal” flew out from LA, I knew, da da dum, a new drama together will happen. Thank you for gifting us this pairing. Can’t wait for November 23 to come. Next up, please reunite with Ha Ji Won for a Mr and Mrs Smith kind of comedy-action drama. If Jang Na Ra and Jang Huyk are allowed to reunite in Fated To You, so can HB and HJW. By the way, Successful Story of a Bright Girl was one of my favourite K-dramas from the early 2000s. The others being Goong (Princess Hours) and All About Eve.

The first trailer has dropped. Just saw it on Soompi website. HB rocks two very different looks in separate scenes. One image as a North Korean boy cut fringe look in simple jacket while another image HB is in a blue suit, tie with swept up hair looking like a sophisticated chaebol. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Swiss Alps where para-gliders swished around snow-capped mountains. Then the two locked eyes beside the lake. Visually, it’s even better than the Spanish backdrop in MOA. Absolutely stunning. Got the feel of a sweeping romance instead of a comedy feel.
