New Stills from jTBC Drama Chocolate Shows Multiple Sides of Chef Ha Ji Won

Upcoming jTBC drama Chocolate feels surprisingly low key and low promo which is fine with me. All my favorite Lee Kyung Hee dramas were the ones that flew under the radar more than her highly anticipated ones. Her specialty is crafting a sadder than sad set up between the leads and milking their chemistry and angst for every tasty drop of tears. Poor Moon Chae Won must’ve been dehydrated by the end of Nice Guy and Rain was positively wrung out by Sang Doo, Let’s Go to School. Now it’s Ha Ji Won‘s turn to go full melo and I can’t wait, her last super duper melo turn was in What Happened in Bali and we know the magic that happened in that drama, though Chocolate doesn’t seem to have a drop of makjang yet from what I can see. Just Ha Ji Won being a chef and living a happy and melancholy life in the South Korean countryside.

  1. What I’ve liked about these stills is that they’re not cheesy and over dramatic yet so unpredictable. HJW finally is back and it’s going to be a pleasant ride just to view this without the distracting hoopla and buzz that other dramas have. I’m eager to find out how the relationship pads out and that they find happiness again. Good old fashioned love story again so what a wonderful premise to start with.
    Disclaimer:
And yes I am a HUGE fan of HJW. ❤️

    • Yes, Ginger Crunch, I can’t help fan-girling over her now. She is off to Vietnam now to participate in Operation Smile charity campaign where doctors operated on children to fixed their facial deformities. HJW is such a kind, warm-hearted and humble person. I truly wish she has her own knight in shining armour to sweep her off into the sunset and find her own happiness.

  2. So excited for this drama and to see Ha Ji Won as chef! I love seeing delicious food on screen, I think they’re really pretty. This low key drama is definitely right up my alley. Bring on the tears, I’m so ready.

  3. Super excited to see HJW again. Been waiting patiently for 2 years. The combination of HJW + food + chocolate is enough to spin my heart off to the moon. Shamelessly fang-girling over her. I sincerely wish HJW all the best in her professional and personal life. She so deserves her own happiness and healing after losing both her dad and younger brother in a span of 2 years. I pray that a knight in shining armour will cross her path, cherish her, protect her, care for her and adore her forever. After seeing how she interacts and loves her nieces, family and pets plus learning how to cook Korean and Italian food including baking skills, she will make an awesome and amazing wife and mother. Fighting!

  4. Super duper excited for this drama. Love seeing food and HJW together. Wish HJW all the best in her professional and personal life after a tough 2 years of losing both her dad and brother. Pray that she will get her own happy ending in real life. She so deserves it after all the pain and suffering she went through. Now that she has added both cooking and baking skills to her repertoire, she will make an awesome and amazing wife and mother. Fighting!
