Cast of K-movie Parasite Wins Best Performance by a Cast at 2020 Screen Actor’s Guild Awards

All of South Korea must be and should rejoice at the latest earned honor bestowed on award winning 2019 movie Parasite. The cast just won the Best Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture award at the 2020 Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, which is equivalent to Best Picture because SAG is about the actors so that award is the top award of the night. Director Bong Joon Ho was there to support his amazing actors and actresses, with the attendees there to accept the award included Song Kang Ho, Lee Jung Eun, Lee Seon Kyun, Choi Woo Shik, and Park So Dam. Actresses Jo Yeo Jung and Jang Hye Jin was unable to make it as each is in South Korea filming currently airing dramas Woman of 9.9 Billion and Crash Landing on You, respectively. I love Parasite, both the story itself with the class conflict and the incredible directing that is just watching art unfold. Congrats to the cast and such a validation for SK film making.

  1. Congratulations to the cast of Parasite ????

When work is that good, it deserves to be honoured. It’s too much to hope that it’ll win the Best Picture Oscar like it deserves (Academy voters are xenophobic and hidebound and like mediocre biopics, going by their own words in anonymous interviews) but I’m so glad the SAG gave it the highest award without making it a ‘best foreign film cast’ type of thing.
