Im Joo Hwan Joining Eric and Yoo In Na in K-drama The Spy Who Loved Me

I get a kick not from watching every K-drama Im Joo Hwan is in, despite really loving him as an actor, but from seeing what he does next because this man certainly jumps roles like a jack rabbit. In second leads alone he plays nice guy, clingy guy, weird guy, silent guy, and then super baddie guy, it’s like he’s the to-go guy whenever K-dramas need a really convincing second male lead to scene steal and make viewers care about the role even if he never gets a happy ending. Up next in his second male lead quest to catch them all is joining Eric and Yoo In Na in the upcoming K-drama The Spy Who Loved Me, not to be confused as a remake of the James Bond film of the same name. I love this trio so bring it on, it can’t be worse that Eric’s last drama the awful Eccentric Chef Moon. *shudders*

  1. The specialist of 2nd lead. I wish he will be the lead in a drama with some other actresses who are also 2nd lead specialist. Make them first lead. Lee da hee. The actresses in Hospital Playlist all can act.

Why no one casted them as leads? Sigh.

Well, eric is a hit or a miss. The same with yoo in na. Is this a romcom?

    • I totally agree with your suggestion of getting IJH to pair with an equally talented 2nd lead actress as the main leads in a good upcoming drama. Am pretty confident they will deliver superbly!!

  2. Second lead is not bad.

I love Eric in rom-com. Pairing with Yoo In Na looks interesting. Looking forward to this one. Hope this is better.

  3. One of Korea’s most underrated actors. But at least he’s still getting work, and watching him act circles around the leads of whatever show he’s in is still satisfying in an odd way (:

  4. I think IJH will outperform Eric, in all visual, height and acting. Just my opinion. IJH is a very good actor, second lead or whatever, he always does his best.

  5. I love Eric Moon since Que sera sera, I didn’t watch his last drama because I’m not a fan of the actress, so I’m really curious for this one.

For IJH, it’s sad he always casted as second lead.

  6. Eris is good actor actually. His role in Que Sera Sera is out of the box even until now from lead male character. It is unfortunate he seems kinda type cast. Hw will be good as villain. Anyway, he and Yoon In Na looks good pairing but anything depends on script, directing and acting.

  7. Eccentric Chef Moon was indeed a blight upon Eric’s drama list. It will be hard to find something to beat that. Even Myung Wol the Spy was better! Hence I stay positive for this upcoming drama.

  8. I agree whole heartedly that with his superb acting skills,IJH deserves to be cast as the 1st lead. In my opinion, he tends to outshine the male leads in most dramas; ‘The Game’ being just one example.
However, in this upcoming drama, I think playing Derek would be a better fit for him as the role requires an actor of broad-range abilities.
That said, I do wish fervently he will land the 1st lead role in a very good drama soon.
