Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun Lead Script Reading for tvN Sageuk Queen Cheorin

tvN hasn’t had a true saguek in the Sat-Sun time slot and the last sageuks it aired in a different time slot were The Crowned Clown and 100 Days My Prince. It’s time to bring the gravitas and the upcoming Queen Cheorin seems like the comedy soul-swap element will merely be an appetizer comedy before it gets into the heady stuff. The drama will take over for Start-Up in December and stars Shin Hye Sun as the titular Queen and Kim Jung Hyun as her husband the King. The kick is that she’s the soul of a modern 20th century man who time-traveled back to Joseon into the body of the Queen, so yeah straight up Go Princess Go. The stars attended the script reading recently and the released stills make me want to feed Kim Jung Hyun an entire (or maybe 12) chuseok feasts to fatten that much too lean boy back up. Otherwise it looks great and I can’t wait!

  1. So we are getting the POV of a 2020 Korean male kissing the Joseon King who is his husband?

Nice. I will wait just to see how that will be carried out and how the OTP shippers comment on the 1st kiss scene.

    Lol

  2. I’m so happy for Kim Jung Hyun now, how he overcome his anxiety and depression, he even spoke about how he endure this. I feel this is like a great example in korean entertainment industry’s depression/suicide issues.
And, both KJH and SHS are very talented actors. I hope this drama hit big for these talented casts.

  3. Oohhh.. exactly one year later Kim Jung Hyun would be gracing the same time slot on TVN..
Hope the magic works for it like it did in the case of CLOY . Although it is a bit difficult for this drama to reach CLOY level milestone but December dramas usually have decent ratings..
And i m eagerly waiting for Shin Hye Sun’s comeback too..Her performance was really good in her last drama.
