Thankfully the confirmation news that Kim Soo Hyun will be doing the Netflix original K-drama Bloody Finger also comes with an updated synopsis that doesn’t read like the adaptation of American Psycho. Whew. He will be playing a reclusive mysterious spatial designer who does everything himself and is only contactable by email. He was adopted overseas as a kid and returned to South Korea after both parents died in an accident and left their money to him. Everyone is curious about who he is and gradually his real identity will be revealed during the drama. The character is described as basically playing two characters though not split personality. Directing is the movie director of Silence and Tune in for Love (Yoo Yeol’s Music Album) and the screenwriter of drama Wanted.
The release date is 2022. T____T

But now I see it’s the same director as Tune in For Love and I worry because that movie was so freaking boring. And I say this as a fan of one of the actors, it was too boring to even finish.

I actually would have liked the idea of korean remake of American Psycho. It would have been an interesting role for KSH To play. A nice way of challenging himself

I think they wanted to tell his character will be evil like American Psycho…coz it’s a drama not a Movie 2-3 hours movie cannot be drawn into a drama of 16 episodes. KSH will pure evil..

I’m no fan of Yoona, it’s true her acting skill is uneven but she can be really charming and expressive if the drama lets her (she’s good in that prime minister drama and Exit, really insipid and terrible in K2 where she was just a damsel in distress, and The King Loves too – boring).

Nah not Suzy, Yoona or any idols. I’d rather he continue working with talented but underated actresses just like he did with Seo Ye Ji. From his age group, Kim Tae Ri like the others are mentioning is good. I would also support Park Eun Bin. For the noonas if Seo Ji Hye is not booked. I think she would fit him. She has the charisma, acting chops and would fit this kind of drama.

Yoona especially has proven herself capable in the right roles as she is the first idol actress to be nominated for Best Actress in prestigious film awards, but ok, stay biased. I think that same way, not all of ksh fans, but many ksh fans think their bias is one and only the best actor in the world with many awards achievements that not every actress can be eligible working with him cos they might not match ksh acting spectrum level. They say that they want talented actresses now, but forget how some of them bashed Seo Yeji when casting news first came out because she wasn’t “popular enough for him.” They say they want underrated actresses, but then name Kim Taeri of all people, who is arguably the most popular and acclaimed 1990-born actress. It’s hilarious. But anyways, I will keep supporting Kim Soohyun in every project he does. Female lead doesn’t matter to me since he is talented enough to act with anyone and help them shine.

Good example on Seo Yeaji case. Thats why I adore KSH. He is so humble and open for criticism and never underestimate someone just because they are not popular enough in his fans’ perspective. He sees good thing on his costar / colleagues when most ppl doesnt. Thats why iotnbo is a very succesfull. They trust each other, not one feeling more superior than the other
To be fair, at least one of those idols has a decade-long record of bad or mediocre acting skills. Idol fans getting wildly defensive over criticism of their faves acting is always funny.

All this talk about female lead when Kim Soo Hyun himself has not confirmed. The latest I read is the FL will be selected through auditions so they are probably looking for new talent. All fandoms have arrogant fans so it’s quite unfair to say some of HIS fans so arrogant and think he’s superior. All actors have this type of fans because the general view is most idols are not good at acting so you can’t blame people for preferring actors over idols, just like people would prefer to watch idols sing and dance over actors.
The last time they did this, Joo Won’s My Sassy Girl was a flop. I hope they select carefully.

For Seo Ye Ji… Most of KSH fans were worried coz writer were rookie and director was not well known but still KSH choose IOTNOB even when people around him said not to do this project coz his character was ordinary. That time only reason to watch IOTNOB was KSH. But after watching it… everyone understands not to underestimate and have trust on KSH. This time again for Bloody FINGER drama… writer is not much experienced… people are worried coz he is taking risk. Even he was choosen most demanded Korean actor in drama of 2020… declining big offers and choosing risky project is not easy thing.

Before drama air, yes I admit that most ppl want to watch because of Soohyun, but while its airing, many ppl ended watching because of Seo Yeaji beauty and great acting skill. Many of them cannot believe how such beautiful actress with great talent has not been discovered before. Plus many ppl also stay to watch the drama bcos of excellent story made by that rookie writer and amazing cinematography. So in the end, the succeed of iotnbo in the end is bcause the whole team, not per individually achievement. Cos famous actor / actress can be the reason why ppl want to watch, but it doesnt always guarantee the successful of a drama. Many examples of kdrama that is so hype in the beginning bcos starred by famous actor / actress, but turns out a big flop. Well done to all Moon Trio, Jo Young, and Park Shin Woo PDnim and crew. They all make IOTNBO succesful equally.

Many kdrama with all the hype in the beginning starred by famous actor / actress, eventually be a big flop with relatively bad review if not well executed
Thankfully ksh, syj, ojs great acting with amazing supporting cast, great story, and good cinematography bring the exceptional achievement for the drama
