First Dark Action Packed Teaser for SBS Sageuk Joseon Exorcist with Jang Dong Yoon and Kam Woo Sung

I love Jang Dong Yoon but it feels like his three most recent K-dramas are venn diagrams. Tale of Nokdu he played an discarded prince in a Joseon, Search he’s a soldier hunting zombies in the DMZ, and now in upcoming Joseon Exorcist he’s a prince hunting zombies in Joseon. Despite his baby face he’s quite suitable for action pieces with his fit physique and earnest intensity, I do wish the first teaser for Joseon Exorcist didn’t immediately call to mind comparison to Netflix zombie drama Kingdom, and even to the K-movie Rampant. I probably make those associations faster than most viewers having watched and really enjoyed those two previous zombies in Joseon genre and still plan to enjoy Joseon Exorcist on its own merits.

  1. It does bear a strong resemblance to Kingdom. Not just the teaser but also the synopsis to some extent. Plus evil spirits that look and act like zombies? I read some K-netizen comments criticizing the similarities with one even going so far as to call it “fake Kingdom”. Lol. Yet if that Mr. Queen controversy has taught one anything, it’s that they will still watch it. As will I. Go Joseon Exorcist!

  2. I’m not personally a fan of horror or zombie-type kind of dramas but because it’s JDY, Mr. Macaron, I’m down to check it out ?

unfortunately they will be rivals but at least for not a few weeks since JE is not airing until sometime in March which the latter is airing inFeb 🙂 They will be star-crossed lovers haha

@ma exciting times, we will support both ^^

  3. I’m not a fan of zombie-themed dramas/movies. So sad that i won’t watch it even if it has Jang Dong-yoon. I’m rewatching Tale of Nokdu now.

  4. I’ve just read this drama and Mr Queen shares the same writer. Omfg. My interest in this drama has intensified enormously as I extremely enjoy watching Mr Queen.

  5. Hum… all the drama takes place at night? They forgot there was daytime too?

I hope they didn’t make the same mistake than Arthdal Chronicles…
