L Redeems Himself with Success of KBS Sageuk Royal Secret Inspector One Year After Meow: The Secret Boy

The Secret Royal Inspector (or Royal Secret Agent) is retiring with fanfare as the KBS Mon-Tues drama wrapped up this week to a really admirable ratings run. It started off the usual low 5.0% and ended with the final episode 16 having both segments in double digits with 10.2% and 14.0%. Overall the drama headlined by L (Kim Myung Soo), Kwon Nara, and Lee Yi Kyung averaged 8.119% which is really good for a big three network prime time ratings, aside from the runaway hit that is SBS makjang Penthouse. Most ratings are between 3%-6% these days and I continue to be thrilled with more and more dramas proving that if the content is worth watching then there are still viewers on the tube. K-ent is also reporting how this drama fully redeems L for the epic weird mess and super low rated Meow: The Secret Boy. Maybe had the drama aired after yesterday’s epic Lawyer as Cat Zoom meme there would be an appetite for a cat boy show ahahahah. Congrats to the cast and crew of Secret Royal Inspector!

  2. I dropped both dramas but Meow was bad because of the writting not L’s acting only, the story was stupid and nothing could save it.

  3. Good for them! I was watching this and liked it for how light and easy it was. But then around EP6, I kinda just forgot about it. Plus it didn’t help that some of the characters became inconsistent because the plot needed them to. However, now that it’s done airing, I’ll go back and finish it. Congrats to the whole team!

  4. I remember watching the first 3-4 episodes but then put it on hold for some reason..Will continue it soon..
Btw , i m happy that L redeemed himself before joining military..He chose Marines, the toughest branch ..Hope his comeback is also a success.
