Lee Joon Young and Seohyun Pair Up for Netflix Movie Adaptation of Romance Webtoon Moral Sense

Consider me surprised that this is getting an adaptation, but then not surprised after I read where it will air. Netflix continues to broaden its Korean entertainment offerings and other than producing K-dramas it has also bankrolled exclusive movies. The streaming giant will be adapting the Korean webtoon Moral Sense into a Netflix movie starring Seohyun of Girl’s Generation and Lee Jun Young also known as Jun from U-Kiss. The webtoon is about an ordinary boring seeming office worker who is secretly into bondage and when his female colleague who finds out his secret by accident they embark on a sweet and spicy romance. Korean movies have pushed boundaries way beyond even hardcore BDSM but this webtoon is reportedly not intended to be totally sexual but instead sweetly explores the fringes of alternative bedroom tastes and also has a wide range of friends and office coworkers to add to the story. The movie will stream exclusively on Netflix with no projected airdate.

  2. To be honest, I don’t really enjoy Seohyun’s performance. But the plot sounds so repetitive but different at the same time, intrigued here.

  3. After watching her last drama, I’m confident that she can pull this off. She has the emotional range to give it a decent shot and I don’t think she’ll freeze up with the physical demands of the role. Not surprised it’s a movie, though. Plot sounds way to racy to be a drama, even on Netflix.

  4. Korean movies can go pretty far. There’s nothing it won’t air. I’ve watched some manhwa adaptations on Netflix that are way more violent and racy compared to a Kdrama so all this is nothing new.

I am just surpised at the female lead’s choice. * shrugs* she is turning 30 this year and she has gone on to acting so not surprising. However since I’ve caught her last few dramas- I just laugh at the role she will be playing. She hasn’t been believable as a strong aggressive female in the last 2 dramas where she had this sort of role. She sounded as if she tried to be so but just sounded so fake.

    • Hahaha.
I wished they had gotten a different FL for the same reason, cause I want to watch Jun. I like watching him. He has been one of those idol actors who steadily does his thing, getting roles little by little, and improves bit by bit. But with her signed on, I just cant muster the will to watch this.

  5. Yeah the webtoon is not really racy, it’s surprisingly very sweet romance of two collagues trying to satisfy each other kinks and fall in love.

To be honest, Seohyun started off quite bad as an idol actress… But she keeps improving by doing challenging roles, and I applaud her for that. Her two recent roles are depressed lesbian teacher and femme fatale scammer, and now she is a newbie dominatrix. She sure knows how to pick her roles lol.

  6. The webtoon itself is not racy at all though lol. Even their ‘plays’ are PG13. Both ML and FL are well put together people, and treat each other really respectfully it hindrances the progress of their dom-sub relationship and eventual romance lol. Alas in the webtoon FL didn’t start as a dom, she learned to be one as her preferences slowly ‘awaken’ after getting involved with ML (who’s an M), so maybe there’s some changes.

  7. I actually like seohyun a lot more as an actress than idol. she never stood out in snsd and was pretty awkward onstage. nowadays I think she’s the prettiest compared to her ex-members.

  8. Seohyun? Ah, that kissing machine is back again. I miss the day she was with SNSD. At least if she really like to kiss, kiss some girls. It’s getting boring to see she kiss men.

  9. I first knew of her from her promos for her recent drama in Netflix and I just think she tries so hard to be likable and memorable. She said she lost a lot of weight for the drama because she thinks she looks better if she’s thin – she doesn’t , poor girl looks ill so I hope her friends or agency or the PD can tell her to be healthy. I just don’t connect with her acting, she seems to be really “acting” unlike others who are effortless. She does seem to work really hard, so I wish her good luck.

  10. I’m less surprised at the story than the cast haha not something you’d think idols would star in , even if they have gone on to acting.
