Hyeri and Jang Ki Yong Epitomize Youthful Cohabitation Romance in 1st Look Pictorial Promoting Fantasy K-drama My Roommate is a Gumiho

I feel like these two are overdue for a well received drama, and by gosh I’m rooting for them now. Jang Ki Yong and Hyeri are about to return to the small screen with the fantasy romance My Roommate is a Gumiho but we get a first glimpse of their onscreen visuals and chemistry in the newly released pictorial on 1st Look magazine. Verdict? So good looking and charming, my teeth hurt from the cute. They are the twenty-something dream about what young love looks like hanging around an apartment al weekend. Why go out when you can stare at Jang Ki Yong looking so swoony and he’s probably got a quip for every occasion. Hanging out is totally fine when your girlfriend is as hot as Hyeri with a side of dorky that she’s never going to shake thanks to our collective fondness for Deok Sun. This is one of the best couples shoots for a drama promotional circuit I’ve seen in a long time, and honestly she’s still riding Deok Sun goodwill 6 years in and he’s only been as promising as he was in My Ahjusshi and not yet found the role/drama to capitalize on it. Hope Gumiho hits all the right notes for viewers.

  2. Okay they have a ton of chemistry from the stills. I don’t like either frankly, but good chemistry to me is as essential as good directing and potentially sliiiiiightly more important than good acting. The last Gumiho drama lacked it big time but fingers crossed on this.

  3. They are visually great together in this pictorial. But I didn’t like the teaser trailer so I’ll just wait for the first episode to see if they could deliver a fun romcom. After Monster I’m looking for something fun to watch.

  4. I like the webtoon but I’m not sure how it will translate to the screen, especially the humour which is what makes the webtoon fun but might make the drama feel well, cartoonish. I am not sold on hyeri as an actress. But they do look very cute together.
