First Look at Hyeri in KBS Sageuk Thinking of the Moon When the Flowers Bloom Opposite Yoo Seung Ho

It’s clear idol-actress Hyeri is quite beloved and popular within K-ent, she is always friendly and sincere whenever I see her doing variety and interviews and so many other stars speak highly of her. So it’s no surprise that she got a beverage truck sent to her on the set of KBS sageuk Thinking of the Moon When the Flowers Bloom. It’s scheduled for airing towards the end of 2021 and stars her, Yoo Seung Ho, Byun Woo Seok, and Kang Mina, and while it could be a case of one strong actor leading a trio of pretty faces I’m getting less worried after watching Hyeri in My Roommate is a Gumiho. If she plays a character she connects with and taps into her expressiveness then it could work because she’s really good at generating chemistry. It was clear in Answer Me 1988 as she has chemistry with everyone in that drama and now she’s doing the same in Gumiho. She looks cute in Joseon garb and I’m glad she’s playing a downtrodden female lead at the start of the drama rather than an upright lady type.

  2. I think she’ll be fine as long as the character expresses big emotions. Hyeri can do the over-the-top earnest, bright and loud FL-type. However for political and emotional scenes, as required in sageuk, her character should still express “big emotions” like crying really loud, etc. She’s fine in Answer Me 1988 if that is the kind of emotional angst that is expected of her, but NOT the subtle kind of emotional expression. That will be her downfall.

  3. Poor yoo seung ho!!He doesnt have hit rating drama for long long time. Now getting paired with idol actress who cant acting. This will be flopped for sure.Better next time and he deserve good drama with better female lead.

  4. She’s playing a poor saeguk lady isit? Kbs produce good saeguk drama. You seungho deserve a good rating after back to back flop

  5. I don’t know if Hye-ri is beloved or popular in K-ent, but I can see that she’s clearly one of Koala’s beloved ones now…

  6. Hyeri’s acting is bearable when she plays loud characters. She can’t do finess. So I’m not sure that her in a sageuk was the best choice…

  7. Hyeri is fine if she plays a character that resembles her real life personality. Otherwise it is unbearable to watch her act. Her acting in My Roommate is a Gumiho shows that with the right role, she packs a lot of leading lady charm onscreen but her acting range is incredibly limited.
