Wu Yi Fan Detained by Chinese Police on Suspicion of Rape After Investigation into Allegations Brought by Influencer Du Mei Zhu

I’m going to see how his fans will spin this but then again I’ve seen even worse misconduct spun by diehard fans in other cases. Chinese-Canadian singer-actor Wu Yi Fan (Kris Wu or just Kris when he was part of EXO) has been detained by the Beijing Chaoyang District police station after two weeks of investigation into allegations that he had raped multiple women. One woman an influencer named Du Mei Zhu started the snowball into his personal life after she posted online how Wu Yi Fan woo’d her, then drugged and raped her. She alleged this was his MO and that he had raped even minors in the past. Since the Wu Yi Fan has lost over a dozen high profile brand sponsorships and endorsements and all his projects went on halt. Wu Yi Fan’s agency had posted after the allegations broke that he never drugged or raped any woman, and they would sue for defamation, and that if he did any crime he would be happy to go to jail. So, uhm, yeah I guess now’s that time. Rumors swirling in C-ent is that the police are in possession of hard evidence, videos and text messages of Wu Yi Fan’s MO picking up young women, getting the girl drunk, and sleeping with her without consent (i.e. rape), and that those were recorded and kept in order to keep Wu Yi Fan from ever trying to leave the agency. If true forget his career, in China rape can be punishable by as severe as life in prison without parole and/or the death penalty if the circumstances warrant.

  2. This might be the biggest C-ent celeb scandal ever. It has been non-stop chaos on Weibo.

At this point, forget about his career, the bigger question is if he will ever get out of China ALIVE. The Chinese judicial system does not play. There are (rumored) drug and trafficking allegations atop this, which is a whole other ballgame.

I wondered in the previous post if he was going to flee to Canada. Looks like he didn’t manage to.He better hope his Canadian citizenship saves him else he is a dead man walking.

    • Du Mei Zhu is really brave to do this, given how many people appear to be complicit in enabling Wu Yi Fan in perpetrating these horrors (including his management, who apparently were aware and filmed him for blackmail material – what utter scum do you have to be to allow this to keep happening?)

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were drugs involved. DMZ said he was roofie-ing women, if he was using other drugs as well and thinking he’d get away with it because he’s rich and had powerful people’s support…he’ll be lucky to even stay alive.

      • @Royal We – DMZ is very brave indeed. She got so much hate at the start, but she managed to start a domino effect. WYF’s downfall is may also ensnare other celebrities and rich people.

The drug allegations are that he was importing drugs in to use. That is death-penalty-level offense in China. Again, his Canadian citizenship might be the only thing keeping him alive…for now.

His fans are going to get real quiet (on Weibo) soon. The Weibo police is already moderating his topic.

    • IF he is proven guilty raping minor (rumored there is a 14 yo Shanghai fan or fans) his Canadian citizenship is useless against China judicial sytem. China managed to executed 2 Canadian in 2016 and Canada can’t do nothing.

  3. His fans can say whatever they want. They’re like dogs barking at the wind.
Police will only care about evidence, and it sounds like they got some. Putting him in jail will allow his victims to see justice be rendered and avoid other young women to be abused by him in the future.

  4. I’d say the agency should be held accountable as well if they have those evidence and were holding onto it to keep him from leaving.

  6. And to think this pos still has crazy fans defending him. Where is adyleeminho who said her oppa is innocent and slut-shamed his victims? insane.

  7. Does Canada have a history of intervening in the cases of people convicted of rape, drug or other capital offenses abroad? I also remember that Canada and China are not exactly on good terms because of the issue with the Huawei executive.

  8. Didnt police say there was another 3rd party in this case??? I’ve read about his scenes in Fourtry, and there was a 17 or 18 y.o actress too, i forgot her name but she had a drama with one of Wannaone member, Guan lai (?), sorry im bad in remembering names. And angelababy took care of that girl. Duh, when i watched it, i thought kris was a nice gege, but now, ught… he probably had one thing or two on his mind.

  9. Good for the Chinese authorities for (somewhat) acting right away on this issue – if there’s one thing China’s good at, its not letting serious issues like this skirt by for celebs, which had always been a rarity in other places. I believe DMZ, plainly because she is the victim but also because it is no easy feat coming forward with allegations like these against one of the most popular men in the world. 9/10 times victims are ostracized by the public and the legal system alike and have their lives ruined forever. I hope she stays safe and is able to come out of this well.

I’m not going to lie – I was a fan of him when he was in EXO. He was never my bias and I always thought he had that supercilious fuckboy vibe going on so I was spared from getting in too deep but this still hurts. Men are such monsters.

  10. As an EXO fan I’m just glad he’s not associated with them anymore. I personally had reservations about him. If he’s truly guilty I hope the full force of the law gets him
