Snack Cart Support Pictures Show First Look at Son Ye Jin Filming Upcoming Female-centric jTBC Drama Thirty Nine

The mega hit that was Crash Landing on You is now almost two years ago, and since then neither leads Hyun Bin or Son Ye Jin tried to capitalize on that surge of popularity with another drama or movie in quick succession. Not surprising since both are A-list established stars but now its Son Ye Jin who will be the first to pick her next project and it’s the three female best friends drama Thirty Nine. The drama will air on jTBC in early 2022 as a 12-episode run and has been filming quietly for some time now. This week pictures from the set with Son Ye Jin enjoying a snack cart support sent to her shows viewers the first look at her character visuals. I’m sure the fuzzy slipper aren’t part of her onscreen outfit even if she makes it look both elegant and comfortable on her. Her two besties in the drama are played by Jeon Mi Do and Kim Ji Hyun and the script is by the screenwriter of Encounter (Boyfriend), Entertainer, and Pretty Boy (Bel Ami).

  2. I wouldn’t say they didn’t try to capitalize on CLOY’s success. Hyun Bin filmed two movies since but looks like the pandemic has affected the releases. Son Ye Jin was attached to that American film but looks like that got delayed too. I think dramas were affected less and SK found a safe way to keep TV productions going. This viewer is grateful for that!

  3. Looking forwards to 39 since it’s based off of 三十而已/Nothing But Thirty, which was one of the best cdramas of the last few years.

  4. Looking forward to Son Ye Jin on a kdrama again. You just know she’s going to deliver a good performance and her costars have acting chops too.

    • Yes please be good! I like the actors involved and the demographic as someone who is also in her late 30s so this speaks to me. But I’ve been so disappointed by so many dramas lately.

      • Offline? You know us? It’s sure that as international viewers, our opinion doesn’t count in the ratings…

      • Wait..aren’t you a LMH fan? I guess you must be really jealous of these women here

  5. Not very impressed with the writer… Pretty Boy is a mess, Encounter is very slow. What do others think about this writer? 12 episodes is a good length, hope it is not draggy like previous scripts…

  6. Looking forward to this because of Mi Do which I discovered through HP 🙂 Hopefully the drama is not too melo and will be a mix of light romcom, light drama.
